I think it will get more people involved in Football or Soccer in North America and one day we might have a decent team. Yes, they all suck now!

I used to watch a lot of football when I was little in Africa then we moved to Canada and hardly anyone plays it here. Lost interest in it but w ...[text shortened]... , Wow!

Football will be big in N.America one day and bringing Beckham here is a great start.
Becks will start appearing on TV and half budget movies where he
performs as a football god, and the kids will get all fuzzy for footie,
and the U.S. will suddenly channel big bucks into the football league,
and they will rename it the 'World Series of Soccer' and make us all
the rest angry because they claim to have the world champion, only
because in their local teams play a couple of Mexicans, one 42 year
old Brazilian, Becks, and 2 Russians from New York.

You obviously missed my earlier post...

The US chucked big bucks at 'soccer' in the 70's, and it didn't muster much interest then.
I can't see why it will be any different this time around.

All the US national side play in Europe... not in there homeland.
    There tells a tale.

Everyone in England thinks that Becks has made a bad career move, by moving to the US. He will no longer be playing top level football on a regular basis.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. America won't switch on to football until the players start wearing helmets.

Independently from tha, matey, the U.S. in 2007 is way different in
MANY ways to the U.S. in the 70s, plus it does NOT matter how Becks
play, but how big a mediatic phenomenon he is, which will boost a
humongous industry machinery in the US, together with a new
generation of Americans that, unlike those in the 70s, are more
connected with the world phenomenon that football is, plus a bigger
population of Americans born from 1st generation Eastern Europeans
and Latin Americans that simply, because of their native culture, love,
    follow and practice football.

Footie is already one of the most popular sports practiced in schools
    around the U.S.

    😀😀😀 I like that Seitse!

You know I'm getting bored off seeing these posts from americans and others saying how amazing football in the usa is going to be, and how many world cups they are going to win.....people, when you do win the world cup, and when your domestic league does rival the european league then you can talk, but until then, shut up, the USA are S*** at football and will be for some time.

Anyway, talking about proper footballing nations, did you see La liga last night! I can't believe Barca threw it away last night, they had the title and blew it 1 min from time. Real will take the title now, sorry Seitse, Sevilla also blew thier chance last night!

    Brillant!

I don't think N.A. will have a great team but football will grow here because of him and in 2200 when we are all dead, Canada will win the World Cup!

78,000 people showed up at Giants stadium to see the finals in 78 or 79.

it was constantly in the news.

Soccer went from nothing to fairly big business over night.
