I have already comfoted a few Notre Dame fans today. I just smile and tell them that judgement day awaits Meatchicken in Columbus in November. 😀
How about them Buckeyes? They only allowed one offensive touchdown. By all rights their special teams coach should either be fired or have the fire put under him. Other than that, no complaints!! 😀
Originally posted by BadwaterI think there will be few surprises this year. I think that both Alabama and OSU are ranked correctly being #1 and #2. In fact, I don't see anything stopping a meeting in the NC with Alabama winning. How can anyone defeat a team with two Heisman like running backs? Oh yea, and the QB looks awesome as well. LOL.
Only two Top 25 teams lost today, rather remarkable.
I haven't seen much of Ohio State, but given their conference it is likely they will go undefeated.
Other than Alabama are there any teams that look totally dominating?
Oregon maybe? Okalahoma looked really good against FSU. Stanford? Oklahoma defeated Stanford last year and hasn't lost much unlike Stanford.
It seems to me that TCU and Boise State should be given slots in real conferences. Isn't BSU going into the Pac 10?
Originally posted by EladarWhile I think Ohio State could go undefeated in the Big 10 (and if they do they will justifiably play for a nation championship), I think the Big 10 and the difficulty of their road should not be underestimated. Ohio State already beat then #12 Miami. They play Wisconsin and Iowa on the road and play Penn State and rivalry game against a improved Michigan team.

Originally posted by EladarI do not like pre-season ratings either. But Ohio State has won every game this year including a win over Miami. They were very good last year. What is your basis for believingt they are not as good as any other team?
What do ratings mean at the beginning of the year? The then #12 crap is pathetic. People get to vote on teams before they even get to see the team play and the rating is supposed to mean something?
Just goes to show how people buy into crap.
Originally posted by quackquackMy point of view is that they are no better than any other unbeaten team. Why judge teams right now?

We need a play off system, plain and simple. Take the top 16 teams and let them play it out in December, with the finalists meeting in the BCS Championship bowl. Let the other BCS bowls be made up of the other 14 teams.
Enough of this voting crap.
Originally posted by EladarWe will see who else is able to beat Miami. If no one else does, that should say something.

Originally posted by EladarIf you think all unbeaten teams are the same then why play anyone good? Why be in a good conference? A sixteen team playoff would be like the NCAA tournament, it would make the regular season meaningless. Now every game can change a season. There would be no difference between a three loss regular season team and an undefeated team.

Originally posted by quackquackRegular season meaningless? It is already meaningless. If OU isn't one of the top teams, then I could give a flip. As a matter of fact, I'm only concerned if OU wins or not. Of course my OU is the Sooners.

I could give a rat's but what happens in any other conference, other than a big name school getting beat. I don't think anyone else really cares either. Do you care what happens in the Big XII? When I lived in California I certainly didn't.
College football is local. Conference Championship means everything. The only bowl that means anything is the MNC game.
After week 8, the only teams that will matter are the teams in contention for the MNC. You are looking at 4 or 5 teams max. The season is already over for all other teams, except for those who have a big game against a rival (local).
You need to stop drinking the Kool aid being given to you by people who are making money off the BCS.
