The games against New York and Boston, though, were all before we became the invincible super-team we are now. We just got done beating Cleveland 8-6 to complete the sweep of them. A grand slam for Martinez and Verlander got his 22nd win. That's sweeps against both Chicago and Cleveland to put us way out in front. During those six games we outscored our opponents 57 to 20.

I love Verlander and Jimmy Leyland is top shelf as well.

I have no affinity for any of the AL clubs.
Being from Texas, I will root for the Rangers, of course.

I am no Yankee fan.
Not a BoSox fan either, although they are preferable to the Yankees.

I was at Texas while Ronnie Gardenhire was shortstop for UT.
He was ahead of me by a few years since his last year there was my first.
I had blown out a shoulder and was rehabbing at the time.

Verlander has been great. He's 17 games over .500. The rest of the team is two games over .500 in a terrible division having off years. He'll need to carry them in the playoffs which certainly is possible -- but other than him despite their good month there really isn't much to play up.

15 team leagues so he can expand the playoffs from 8 teams to 10 teams.

In fact, it appears that is what is holding up the transfer of ownership from Drayton
McLane to Jim Crane, is Crane's apparent reluctance to accept such a move.
It now appears Mr. Crane is softening his stance.

Bud Selig is a real piece of work. Where have you gone Peter Ueberoth, Bart Giamatti,

That simply isn't true. That was all before we became an invincible super-team, on August 1st. Since then Verlander has gone 7-0, while the rest of the team has gone 17-11. So that good month isn't all due to Verlander.

With the addition of Fister we have a legitimate post-season pitching staff. And the addition of Delmon Young and Wilson Betemit have made a lineup with no holes in it.

i don't watch basketball and only hockey when it's getting close to playoff time... i really don't want baseball to turn into that. saying that i don't really have one particular hockey team that i like so there's no real reason to follow the early stages. i'd probably aways watch the mets suck up the place regardless of how many teams are getting in the playoffs.

The Tigers are #10 in payroll at $105 million. They are a legitimate threat because of that alone. 😛

There are teams in tougher divsions who have been playing .600 ball since the beginning of the year and you think the Tigers are unstoppable because they picked up an over-roided and under talented guy like Wilson Betemit? The Tigers are a good team and anyone can win in the playoffs but the team is an invincible superteam is almost as delusional as your political views.
