116 of those are against AL East rivals.

That's 43%
which roughly equates to 1 in 4 of Halladay's starts are against Boston/New York.

I doubt Santana has had to face that kind of a team so often.

65 career starts against NYY and BOS (almost exactly 1 in 4)

Santana:
17 career starts against NYY and BOS
81 career starts against AL Central teams (CWS, DET, CLE, KC)
220 career starts

Best pitcher in baseball right now? Him and Grienke tied?

To be fair you might want to point out that Tampa Bay and Baltimore, two teams in Halladay division, did not have spectalular teams between 2002 and 2007.

AL East from 2002-2007

New York 591-380
Boston 568-409
Baltimore 429-543
Tampa Bay 382-588

So,

KC = TB
Baltimore = Detroit
Boston > Cleveland
New York > Chicago

Halldays career record against:

BOS: 12-12, 4.46 ERA, 1.31 WHIP
NYY: 16-5, 2.79 ERA, 1.10 WHIP

Everyone knows the AL East is better than Central but Santana is better than Halladay.

Halladay never led the league in ERA and won one CY Young.
Santana led the league in ERA three times (plus is leading the league this year) and has two Cy Youngs.

As for consistency, Sanatana has finished in the top 5 ALL of the last years. In fact Santana's career ERA of 3.07 is better than Halladay's ERA was the year that he won the Cy Young award. Santana's career ERA starting in '02 (when he became a full time pitcher) is 3.07, 2.61, 2.87, 2.77, 3.33, 2.53 and now is 2.00. Now Halladay is certainly a great pitcher too but he has years with 4.20 and 3.71 and Santana has never had "ordinary" years.

Santana is leading majors in ERA. ok sure. try looking up Zach Greinke(spelling right?)

2004 was Halladay's only ordinary year and it was due to injuries. In 2005, Halladay was on his way to another Cy Young before breaking his leg and ending his season.

Halladay is also a model of consistency.

Perhaps, I should have been more precise when I said league but I meant national League -- Greinke is in the American League.

Halladay is great but Santana is better. Santana does not have two explain away two consecutive years because of injuries.
