Less than 700 out 2500 .This surely proves the point that the championship is set up wrong.I for one only enter tournaments where I have a fair chance ,in other words banded tournaments.As it stands I have only slim to nothing chance of getting anywhere

If you only play in tournaments where you can win, you are missing the point. Most of the tournaments I have played in I was not highest rated but have won my share of them. How can you get better at chess if you don't play those who are better than you ? I believe that banded tourneys encourage mediocrity.

And I was hoping for a group where I never played any of my opponents before and thankfully I got that. But wow I have to play three people above 2000. If I can get 1 win from them I will be happy. I odds for that are probably 7% or less of course.

I have played in it before and just got thrashed .I play for fun not just to win and getting thrashed is not fun.There are much better players than me but do they get the fun out of I do ?
In my opinion all tournaments should be banded and as you get better you are moved to the next level this would stop those who cheat to get a lower rating
