That is one point. Did you live there? Me and my family lived in Jerusalem for years and I saw really stupid shyte the Israeli's pulled, like in the Palestinian village we could see from our flat above the 'Peace" forest, every year some Jewish holiday or other, maybe winning the 67 war, not sure, but they had several bus loads of high school kids go into that village and marching through town boasting how they won and such, I thought it was disgusting, a show of arrogance and how could peace happen with displays like that. Another biggie was the Jordan river water, by the time that water got to Palestinian lands it was a dribble and what there was was so polluted you wouldn't want to wash your feet in it much less grow crops.
At least to that end the US funded a 100 million dollar red sea water desalination plant, I don't know if it is still running though.
That said, we had dear friends on both sides the tweed, I just wrote a tune in honor of one such, Jill Rogoff, a great singer and harpist. I post my stuff on Soundcloud. She and her husband Mike helped us out greatly when we needed it and I never forgot that. We fit right into the folk music community, played gigs up and down the country, several years at the biggest festival, Jacob's ladder.
