For the record, my rating reached 1944 in early June. My highest rating ever.
And achieved mostly through tournament games.
The rating was certainly going to come back down because I had games in progress that I was losing.
Helping that along was the fact that I was losing games to players better than me but with ratings around 1200.
There are a lot of sandbaggers in tournaments.
I manage these games fairly well.
And I am now at my normal rating.
And by the way, when my rating was at 1900, my clan leader had no choice but to set clan games with opponents clearly better than me.
So I am, losing a few clan games at the moment !!
But our clan continues to perform well because we have a clan leader who understands these nuances of clan play.
And he balances the challenges accordingly.
One more thing, I was one of the main supporters of a separate player rating for clan games in our earlier drive for improvements in the site ideas forum.
