Anyone know how many King books were or are going to be made into movies?
I know a few, Shawshank Redemption, Carrie, Tommyknockers, Pet Cemetary I and II,
The Stand (TV mini-series starring Gary Sinese), Christine, what else?

The Green Mile also I believe.

    Far too many.

That TV movie about the silver gobblers that ate time---what was that one?

I've often wondered why so many of the movies based on King's novels get panned so badly by the critics? I've watched Dead Zone, Cujo, Thinner and while they won't win any Oscars, I found them entertaining enough.

A lot of the adaptations were more-or-less well received, not panned. I agree, most are enjoyable.

    Carrie
    The Shining
    The Shawshank Redemption
    Stand By Me
    The Dead Zone
    The Running Man
    Misery
    The Green Mile

I enjoyed all these. The Shining, Shawshank, Stand By Me, Carrie and The Running Man I have seen at least 2 or 3 times each.

Did you know The Running Man was directed by the original Starsky?
