My guess would be It’s either a case of the Russian mafia had some reason to make an example of them or Putin did. The fact that their wives and daughters were also butchered leans me toward this being a stark message for an audience of oligarchs.

I'm not claiming nobody murders their family before suicide, but wealthy men are not prime suspects in that sort of thing. Add to that no motive.

Jealous husbands killing (possibly) unfaithful wives isn't extraordinarily abnormal.

Well, Russian "oligarchs" seems a pretty loose description possibly fitting many individuals.

These are two murders thousands of miles apart. Sometimes coincidences happen; I don't know about the one in Spain, but unless there's something seriously wrong with the report in the article I cited it's hard to see how it could be a murder by anyone but Avayev (who then killed himself).

EDIT: Unless there was a lightning rod an escaped orangutan could climb next to the building .................................................................

Why is there so very little news coverage about this here in the USA though? You would think the powers that be would want to shed light on Russian foul play. Does the Russian news media cover this much? Are these oligarchs supporters of Putin? These are questions I don't have answers to, but why is nobody else curious about it?

I don't think Epstein and Brunel killed themselves and a lot of people agree with me, but they were imprisoned. They had reasons to be depressed and perhaps be suicidal. Rich people have options. They can leave their wives and get another. They also do not have to kill their offspring who did nothing to offend.

People in jealous rages do things they normally wouldn't do like say killing members of their family and themselves. All 3 were shot with Avayev's own gun in a room locked from inside. Witnesses heard screams and gunshots but didn't see furtive assassins jumping out windows.
