Every time I visit the debate forum these days I'm swamped in threads about bloody God. 'The concept of sin', 'atonement theology', 'why organised religion is a crock', BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Every one of these threads is a) dull, dull, dull and b) totally devoid of any element of debate. Apparently it's impossible to debate whether or not God exists - it's only possible to shout about it.
Now, I like a good argument as much as anyone, but I don't think I've ever in my life bothered to argue about religion with anyone. There's just so many more interesting things to talk about, like wars, and extra-marital affairs and student tuition fees...
So to get to the point of the thread heading, why not create a whole new forum for people who like to shout at each other about God? Then we could keep this one nice and clear for proper things that actually affect people (and religion in a political context would of course be tolerated - if grudgingly).
Erm, anyone agree?
Rich.

I know religious discussions can get tiresome, but so can any worn-out subject. I'd say the war in Iraq/Bush is an idiot threads are just as bad as any religious threads...
...yet I find myself participating in them. They certainly are of broader interest than tuition fees. I would have to vote 'no' on moving religion to a separate forum.
