People don't fear Trump. Not in the way that generates respect for Trump.
Maybe the fear may be similar to that of a 4 year old child walking around a neighborhood waving a gun he found in his dad's drawer.
Trump generates the fear one might expect from a loose cannon who has access to a red button.
Countries may not like America. But they respected Obama. And they respect Biden.
