Actually France didn't and deployed up to 4000 troops in Afghanistan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_forces_in_Afghanistan

There were still 1400 there this year for "training and logistical" purposes.

Allies are supposed to decide stuff in unison and be an integral part of the decision making process. Remember why NATO went into Afghanistan in the first place and it was the US that claimed or believed the Afghan Army was willing and able to keep the Taliban out of the cities long enough to stage an orderly retreat. NATO in general has come out of this with a much reduced reputation but the US as the lead in Afghanistan has to bear the lions share of the blame for this fiasco.

I really don't understand what you are saying, but suffice that the USA is (you say) 5% of population?? Then, let me tell you that it is UNFAIR that the USA is the world police, for lack of a better term. We ain't perfect, but if we see, for instance, the spread of communism, we try to stop it. We stop a lot of things. We stopped Saddam Hussein, we stopped Usama. Yet, we are only 5%!?!?!?? Not Fair!!!! There is the definition for you.
