What a liar you are; Florida is censoring far more than that as you obviously know if you even glanced at the article.

THAT alone is enough

Yes. I am asking if it would likewise be legal to ask them to wear other kinds of buttons? Who decides? Are libs going to create panels to 'dictate' such matters? Would Marauder not call this dictating.....the court telling this business what to do?

Here is a link.

The article clearly says that Kroger will develop a policy that will accommodate people's deeply held religious views. Surely that suggests Kroger will make button wearing optional not mandatory in the future.

The introduction of anti-discrimination legislation, inevitably discriminates against those who continue to hold views that society no longer supports. It's sad really, to take away people's freedom's to be racist and bigoted just because society has moved on. You can see why pundits who fuel the discontent of this reverse discrimination are riding a wave of popularity because only they get how soul destroying it is for especially middle class middle aged white men to no longer have the free reign to limit the opportunities of people they either don't like or feel threatened by.

He's basically wrong. Being not able to discriminate any longer is not discrimination, but merely time to recognize that time and tide has changed.

The ones restricting what people can say are the Dems/SJW/Libtards, it's so typical that you turn the tables and accuse others of what you are doing.
And the Republicans aren't emptying any bookshelves.
God you people lie and exaggerate, how can you be so dishonest?
I know you constantly lie like you breathe but are you claiming it’s not the republicans that are removing books from libraries and topics on truths they do not like from school syllabi.
MAGA republicans hate the truth and suppress it at every turn. Governments at state or any other level telling its citizens what they can and cannot teach or say is the definition of fascism and the antithesis of free speech.

Dear JJ, I think the problem with your thread title "America has become..." neatly forgets hundreds of years of American history. It has long been a racial dictatorship, built to favor mainly Anglo English speaking Europeans. Just ask the Irish or the Italians if you doubt this.

The racial dictatorship always favored White Anglo Saxon Protestants. It has become more inclusively white over the past 50 years or so, as the WASP's have learned to share with the other Europeans, but the notion that because it now has to deal with a more diverse pool of citizens all deserving the same rights and freedoms that they always had does not suddenly impose a racial dictatorship against them.

It would be much more accurate to say that America is Becoming a Racial Democracy. Who knows one day America may just become a place for Americans.

I think he is saying that (insert name of any person who is trying to restrict what we say...about anything) is on some mission to restrict what people say. No matter the subject, please look at the big picture. Should I be able to tell Mott not to single out redheads? Do you get this question ? If some person or entity tells us ...[text shortened]... people the hell alone? If I tell you I hate your Wolfhound, can you have me thrown in jail? Jesus
Do you really not understand what racism means?

By the way, if one races enslaves another for centuries, and the enslaved race is freed, yet the slaver race still mistreats the formerly enslaved race, if members of the enslaved race individually mistrust and speak out against the slaver race, this is not the purposeless racism that you, as a member of the slaver race, think it is, nor is it equal to your own racism towards members of the formerly enslaved race.

Racist white people don't have a "racism card" to play. You also don't get to be a hypocrite about racism.

It's like Germans calling Jews racist. Get a grip.

And for God's sake, stop sugar-coating your own racism.

Following a new state education reform law signed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, one school district removed over 170 books from its libraries. The district reminded educators that failing to comply with the new law could lead to teachers being charged with a felony."

"Keri Clark used to spend her days helping students discover books in the school library where she works in Jacksonville, Florida. As she saw it, her job as a librarian was to get as many books in kids’ hands as possible.

That changed last month. The library is now closed off, the shelves are empty, and her job now mostly consists of “vetting” piles of books to comply with new censorship laws implemented by the state of Florida.

The books are sitting out on tables, they’re being boxed up and discarded,” Ms Clark tells The Independent. “It’s just it’s a really sad sight. A lot of the kids keep looking through the window and it’s just it’s awful that I can’t let them come in and get books.”

JJ: And the Republicans aren't emptying any bookshelves.

no1: Who's being "dishonest"?

"A picture book titled Roberto Clemente: The Pride of the Pittsburgh Pirates was removed from schools in Jacksonville, Florida, because it mentioned that he once faced racism. That's where we are with the battle to censor the atrocities of American history from being taught in classrooms."

I suppose if its not remembered, it never happened.

If not remembered, it continues, grows and becomes accepted as culturally and politically correct. The current SCOTUS is very focused on states' rights. It's up to each state to decide on abortion. I predict segregation will return as a states' rights issue. Any activities that are not strictly within the parameters of traditional, conservative Christian belief will be outlawed. At least 11 states are moving to restrict drag shows. https://www.cnn.com/2023/02/05/politics/drag-show-legislation/index.html

Your last sentence says it is not the biz of govt to tell citizens what to teach. You are correct, so I don't see your contrarian point here.
