@YEAH-BOY saidTypical response from supporters of Democrats. Maybe there is some psychological reason why it is that most Democrats are abusive and resort to obscenities, insults and other degrading forms of communication. It must have something to do with their lack of religious beliefs and a leaning toward activities and lifestyles God referred to as an abomination. In other words you people are cursed and doomed to a llife of failure, poverty and suffering. Maybe its time to change your ways.
Thank God your not an American. We have enough idiots in this country already.
By the way dont call me an idiot when you cannot even write proper grammar or string a sentence properly.
@Rajk999 saidJust stay in your country, sand jockey.

@wildgrass saidWe finally get an American pope, and conservatives are mad that he is criticizing America first MAGA policies that hurt the poor and immigrants.
You're a MAGA sycophant.
@wildgrass saidIt does put American Catholic Republicans in a bit of a pickle. Do they follow the word of their lying, cheating, criminal President, or that of their spiritual leader?
Pretty incredible to watch. The whole MAGA movement is collectively realizing that their ideological worldview, aside from abortion, is antithetical to the teachings of Catholicism.
Just as an aside, after the death of the last Pope, Donald Trump posted an image of himself on social media dressed as the Pope. Perhaps this was an attempt at a sense of humour, but if so it was unnecessary, (everyone with an ounce of decency or savvy is laughing at him anyway) and it carries poor taste and disrespect to a whole new low. But then, what else might we expect?
@wildgrass saidWhere do you get this stuff from? Americans are mostly Protestant, who generally dislike Catholics, and think very little of the pope.

@Indonesia-Phil saidI think you have the pope up on a pedestal. Catholics have fallen badly on the moral scale over the decades. The Vatican has been condemned for being materialistic and vain. The religion has come under fire for being idolatrous, and you well know what individual priests have done to little boys over the centuries. Americans in particular do not like Catholicism. They are about 50% Protestant.

@Rajk999 saidAll points taken and agreed with, I'm no lover of Catholicism, far from it, at a deep level I have as much regard for it as I do for any other religion. My point related specifically to American Catholics, which do exist if only in the minority, and who by virtue of the their faith do indeed have the 'Pope on a pedestal' thing going on, and therein must lay the dilemma (if they regard themselves as Republican) , given the apparently liberal views on certain issues which Pope Leo espouses.

He (Pope Leo) is by birth an American, but has travelled extensively and lived elsewhere in the world, which I suspect accounts for his more liberal views. Americans on the whole are not well travelled, I think only about half of them even have passports, which has I think contributed to the 'America is best and everything outside America is evil' kind of mindset which appears to be commonly held. China seems now to be public enemy number one, a country rich in history and culture, with now a strong and growing economy. The world is a great big beautiful place, full of wonderful people, and not all of them live in America. I'm sure you agree with this, I'm making a general point.
@Indonesia-Phil saidYou give him far more credit than he deserves.

@Indonesia-Phil saidMostly in agreement here. I want to add that there are many Protestant sects that regard the pope as the Beast, referred to in Revelation because of some marking of '666' in Latin on one of his insignias. So as far as they are concerned the pope is in cohouts with Satan. The pope moving away from strict Christianity and supporting LGBTQ++ and other deviant lifestyles is even further proof for them that Catholicism is a Satanic religion.

Yes indeed there are many parts of the world where there are very nice people, which the less-travelled do not know [neither care] about. There is no excuse now either for such ignorance. Youtube has just about every corner of the world in living 4K colour, and from every angle. Technology is amazing.
@Rajk999 saidThose Protestants are fools because we know what 666 was code for. It was Caesar Nero.

There’s also no fiery Hell, no Rapture, the story of Noah’s sons is not racial, the original indigenous Americans were not white and till death do you part does not mean until divorce do you part.
Also your understanding of the Bible as it applies to homosexuality is flawed.

Jesus spoke of fiery hell
Paul spoke of being caught up in the air with Christ [rapture]
Your opinion of the Noah story is noted
Not sure what the rest have to do with anything
Homosexuality is a sin and an abomination before God
I dont watch Youtube videos, neither do I post these for people to see.
I take the trouble to watch it, summarise it, and post the opinon myself.
Thanks for your opinions.

@Rajk999 saidHell is a Germanic word that means Hades or Sheol - a dark, gloomy realm where the souls of the righteous and sinful both go after death.

EDIT Hell is ruled by Hela, Loki’s and Thor’s sister, not Satan or Lucifer.
When Jesus spoke of fiery doom and gnashing of teeth he was referring to the Valley of Gehenna where people were burned to death as a sacrifice to gods like Moloch, the Brass King.
I did watch the video and summarized it. Then I provided a link to my source which is what responsible scholars and debaters do.
Your opinion about homosexuality is not supported by the Bible. What is forbidden is to violate hospitality (Sodom’s sin) or to insert your penis into a man, because that is treating him like a woman. Being an effeminate bottom homosexual or a lesbian are not condemned.
Paul’s comments about being swept up in clouds does not imply that this will lead to them being gone from the Earth. That is my summary of my source, and here is my source - another Dan McClellan video.
