Clearly you have no idea what white privilege means.

Nope.
Hyper-selected does mean superior, at least with regard to the Asians now in this country.

This is of course true, but it may also be noted that the large populations of Italian and Ashkenazi Jewish immigrants who arrived from Europe in the period of mass immigration between 1880 and 1920 did not have ancestors who had enslaved black people in the United States - and the Jews in particular were often escaping extremes of oppression at the hands of their Christian fellow citizens in Europe. Unfortunately the racial categories of the US Census are too generic to allow for obvious historical distinctions to be made.

A few years ago I created a thread regarding this issue which seems to have been removed (naturally there was a lot of abusive posts from a certain username). But using research mostly from Asian and Asian American scholars the basic points were:

1) Economic discrimination against most Asian groups pretty much ended in the 1960s;

2) That most of the Asian-American ...[text shortened]... s like "They're lazy" "They're stupid" that other POC are labelled with (as the other thread shows).
Rewinding through my mind, I can find a thread called "Asian-American Privilege", started by you between 110 and 112 weeks ago (I cannot recall the exact date). I can also remember - in my capacity as this forum's resident Necromancer - resurrecting it and explaining your likely motive for the original (provoking D64) when the topic was broached in an unrelated thread (the title of which I did not note) sometime around August last year. It was amusing to watch you and D64 start bludgeoning each other with copy-pastes from the old thread.

I have not checked nor shall I, but I'm a little sad that a piece of history was lost to the Great Purge. Oh well; it's not like I've forgotten them, but sometimes the proof is needed.

(Most white Americans here wrongly assume that all Chinese Americans speak Mandarin.)
...

Visit a Chinatown in San Francisco or New York City.

Many people - not limited to Americans - do not know that Mandarin is not the only Chinese language. Usually, they are aware of Cantonese at most. I know from a friend (whom I have mentioned before) that there are a number of Fuzhounese speakers in Flushing.

I have a female friend (A longstanding research partner in econometrics) who is from Fujian, although she speaks Mandarin natively and has no knowledge of Hakka or Fuzhounese. She remarked to me once that she (as a mainlander) felt unwelcome in Hong Kong.
