For me was the opposite. I knew about the horrors, so I knew what to expect and so never thought it would have that much of an emotional impact. I was wrong. It's not that I learned anything about the history...but you feel it. You really do.

At least I did.

Truly an incredible place, to realise that such evil occurred right where you are standing. I can honestly say I've never felt anything like I did when I passed through the gate under that sign.
