@metal-brain saidOh.
Bullcrap! I have been very consistent about this all along. Imposing sanctions ruins an economy, not socialism.
I can cherry pick horrible capitalist regimes and say that is an example of the failure of capitalism. Saudi Arabia is a horrible regime that oppresses their people. See how horrible capitalism is? I lost a debate??? When did it begin?
You still have not made your point clear. tell me how you addressed your: Capitalists hate competition: The hypocrisy
I would have liked to defend but everything I say about competition between the two you just slough off

When it comes to socialism the capitalists abandon competition and suppress socialism internationally and domestically with crippling sanctions, trade embargoes and even evil wars to suppress it as in Vietnam for example. This is an obvious double standard at the height of hypocrisy.
Now do you understand?
@metal-brain saidGotcha! Let's not conflate "capitalists" and politicians. Whaaa, you think American businesses are afraid? lol

How's this competition for you:
We'll measure the wealth and health of Venezuela right up to the time Hugo Chavez gets
elected, and then measure same when American first puts sanctions on Venezuela.
How's that? is that what you call FAIR?
@earl-of-trumps saidSure. If you think you can prove that proceed to do so. Not that anything you said made any sense.

Many in the media have blamed Venezuela’s worsening humanitarian crisis on corruption, mismanagement, falling oil prices, or U.S sanctions—anything but the rise of socialism in what was once the wealthiest country in South America.
Yet corruption and mismanagement were the direct result of increased government control of the economy—socialism—and in reality, lower oil prices and U.S. sanctions have little to do with the crisis. Instead, the mass starvation and exodus faced by Venezuelans are the natural consequence of the socialist policies implemented by dictators Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro.

President Barack Obama signed the Venezuela Defense of Human Rights and Civil Society Act of 2014, a U.S. Act imposing sanctions on Venezuelan individuals held responsible by the United States for human rights violations during the 2014 Venezuelan protests, in December of that year.

By December 2014, when sanctions were levied on Venezuela, Venezuela was already rotted from the inside.
@earl-of-trumps saidSo corruption and mismanagement only happens with socialism? LOL!

The Ukraine is notoriously corrupt. Are they socialist?
Venezuela is not a socialist country. You still keep putting forth that myth as if repeating that lie enough times will make it true.

ohmygod.
You rebel against US sanctions hurting economies of socialist countries and ruining fair competition, do you not?
So tell me WHICH socialist countries you refer to. Maybe we will get this down.
you have been very elusive so far.
Since Hugo Chavez' election and subsequent flipping Venezuela into a socialist hellhaven,
the government has seized entire industries and much private property. Further stated,
the protesters in Venezuela and opposition leaders in same have been treated to
continual brutal repression, as Maduro employs violent motorcycle gangs to do harm
to peaceful protesters, as opposition leaders are thrown in jail or take exile to avoid persecution.
The economy has been ruined by hyperinflation, lack of production by businesses
that cannot get basic implements or have closed down completely.
Farms cannot get gasoline for their tractors and transport vehicles to get produce
to market. Many have been shut down as a result and people go hungry
Yup, That's about as socialist as it gets. MB, go to wiki and see how they list Chavez and Maduro.
Socialist.

Question back to you, in the name of "fairness".
Why won't socialist countries like Cuba and NKorea allow Walmart to open stores in their country? This is unfair competition!!!
@earl-of-trumps saidI am referring to the definition of socialism. Look it up. Venezuela has a free market economy. Do you deny that?

How can a free market economy be socialist?
@metal-brain saidVenezuela does not have free market economy.

How can a free market economy be socialist?
But let's cut to the chase,, give me a socialist country that you approve of as being socialist.
I'm trying but you're bucking.

Even if it didn't you would still be wrong since my government imposed crippling sanctions on that country, which proves they were not allowed to compete freely.
Once again, there are no countries that are socialist. They do not exist. I'm sure you can find plenty of articles that call countries socialist that are not. Myths about socialism and communism are commonplace. When I was younger I heard the USSR eliminated private property and that is what made them communist, but it was a lie. No country has ever done that in world history. That means communism does not exist and never has, but I'm sure you heard of communist countries that never were communist too.
I didn't buck anything. I keep telling you it doesn't exist and you pretend it does.
@Metal-Brain
Once again, all you do is reject my proposals so I ask you to get a socialist country that America is screwing with sanctions.
Can we do just THAT much?
@earl-of-trumps saidI told you several times.

Once again, there are no countries that are socialist. They do not exist. Look at the definition of socialism and try to apply it to any country in the world. You can't.
You claimed Venezuela is a socialist country. I told you it is not and I even provided my source of information. Continually lying is not working for you. People can tell. You are not fooling anyone.
@metal-brain saidSo you say there are NO socialist countries yet you start a thread that says:

Capitalists hate competition: The hypocrisy
This is supposed to make sense? Why are capitalists afraid of nothing???
Anyway, you ran me in circles and have no idea now why I should continue this senseless thread.
@earl-of-trumps saidI was pretty clear from the get go that anything close to socialism is suppressed so it cannot compete on even ground. Go back and look.
