@Metal-Brain
Socialist states all over the world have had their shot at it. Why should I want to see the reigns of my country
turned over to the socialists just to see them prove what we already know, hard socialism fails all the time.
I don't think I need to try out being a slave to know slavery is a bad thing for me, ya know?
But while we are debating this, w ...[text shortened]... competition is not your idea of "fair". So try telling us what is?
Enquiring minds need to know.
I'm calling you on your BS. I don't think you know what socialism is, let alone if it fails. True socialism has never existed. Most of the nations people claim are socialist have free market economies. Right wingers often call refer to China as Chicoms which indicates China is communist and it isn't. People make the mistake of thinking because the Chinese Communist Party runs the country that is means they have to be communists. It doesn't mean that at all. China is not communist.
Give me an example of a socialist country that has failed. All you have done so far is make incorrect assertions without any facts to back up your claims. Name one socialist country that has failed.

This just simply is not true.
Private people can start communes, kibbutzes. socialist towns. It's all fair game.

I believe in freedom. If you want to live in socialist society, please do. And if you want to START

You don’t believe in freedom you believe in free market capitalism where the weak go to the wall and democratic government is the junior partner to the corporate boardroom.
I see your still deluding yourself that you get to define freedom.
@metal-brain saidWhatever system one chooses to call it, the economic outcome is always the same.
Capitalists praise competition as their purist ideology, yet they fear competition with socialism or anything that may be going in that direction.
The Vietnam war was sold to the American public on the claim that socialism would spread and it would be like a domino effect so we had to go to war to keep that from happening.
That wreaks of capitalist hypocrisy! Nikki Hal ...[text shortened]... ty of people will get better educated and realize what is in their own interests, like Einstein did.
Absolute rule by a select, wealthy few over an impoverished, static majority.
Mao and Stalin lived lives comparable to any monarch in history. They never missed a meal either.

Explain to me what you mean by - giving socialism a fair chance to compete.
I have shown you the FAIR east/west Germany example, I have shown you the north/south Korea example.
Apparently, these examples do not please you. So, ONE MORE TIME, what do you consider a fair competition?

Now this is really ignorant.
Capitalism is NOT free market. Free Market is FREEDOM. So I support it.

Fat pig little Kim is worth $500 million and deals drugs.
The Castro brothers were worth $1 billion in wealth and own the mineral mines of Cuba.
All Communists ever did was change who "exploited the people" from private people over to Dear Leader.
The wealth is *always* controlled by the society's elites. Bottom line.

Free Market is not Freedom or anything like. There is actually no philosophical or practical relationship between the two.
You could operate a free market economy whilst utilising slave labour. Your just spouting meaningless stuff.

Sorry, Kev, you have fallen off the tracks. Maybe next time.
@wolfe63 saidThe USSR was NOT socialist. You need to give an example of socialism. Just because a country has the word socialism in the name does not make it socialist, just like the DPRK is not a democracy even though it is in the name.

If you and Earl are going claim a country is socialist you both have to prove it. Neither of you can do that.
@metal-brain saidThen it clearly is on you to define your brand of socialism.
You give examples that are not socialism. They have free market economies. That is not socialism.
Yes, all socialist countries that ever existed have currency based economies.
You continue to delay and you're evasiveness here leaves me no choice. Bye-ya.
@earl-of-trumps saidThe USA still has slavery. Convicted criminals were exempted from the abolition of slavery in the constitution to allow forced labor like chain gangs.
Kev, slavery is not freedom.

@earl-of-trumps saidI did and you know it. I posted the definition for you before and you know it. Here it is again.

Stop pretending you don't have the definition. Notice the definition says absolutely nothing about social programs.
It is you that are being evasive. Stop projecting.

I think it’s you who’s lost the thread of what your trying to say earl your obviously confused.
@metal-brain saidThen eliminate it.
The USA still has slavery. Convicted criminals were exempted from the abolition of slavery in the constitution to allow forced labor like chain gangs.
I am talking about a free system versus socialism.
