so where does Biden's catholic side come into play here?
Ted Kennedy, a catholic, was the left's best friend in support of abortion.
I think saying that you hate Christians because you don't want their ideology based on their religion is a bunch of shoot in trying to hide your bigotry.
I think everyone here is making the mistake of talking about Christians as if they are a definable homogeneous group.
“ Ted Kennedy, a catholic, was the left's best friend in support of abortion.”
A fine example of a Christian being able to have faith but not want to shove that faith down someone else’s throat.
It’s definitely a legitimate political stance to stand against any political dogma that’s based on religious dogma. No one is going to apologise for that.
@duchess64said I do NOT think that saying that Christians should pay their taxes is the same
(or even close) as advocating the complete separation of church and state.
It's more like saying that Christians should respect and do business with
non-Christian authorities when necessary.
If a Christian child's very ill, should a Christian parent pay a non-Christian doctor
if no Chri ...[text shortened]... ould be described as 'totalitarian', though I expect
that the Church of Scientology would claim so.
It's an extremely far-fetched 'theological' argument.
Arguing that Christians should pay taxes to the state is far from arguing for
complete separation of church and state.
I would add that some Christians have refused to pay some portions of taxes
that they believe are supporting injustices such as wars of aggression.
