@KellyJay saidBut, of course, the Republican Party (AKA the Trump Party) gets a pass, yeah?
I am not a Trump apologist, I've said this before, I'm more concern about how people are acting in hateful manners than I am supporting one over the other. I have said that I do not hate Trump, and for some that is enough to say I'm a Trump supporter because I do not hate him. That speaks more about them as far as I'm concern.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidClearly, you have memory issues.
Republicans/Trump supporters don't need a pass for anything. It's the dem/Lib/Left/Antifa/BLM HATE MONGERS that need forgiveness for their odious behavior and acts.
@KingDavid403 saidI don't recall large parts of cities around the country being burned in rage back then or seeing highways blocked across the country, or students attacking fellow students due to hate of nationalities. Neither was there a lot of hate being broadcast driven from the major news agencies pointing at half of the voting nation suggesting they were mental in the 60s as there are today!
So you do remember the sixties and early 70s then, correct? Today does not hold a wet match for hatred as then, and threw much of history. Look what we did to Jesus for goodness sake etc.
Much of the hate I recall was due to anti-war protests and race issues, which we also have today. I don't remember in the '60s when students were calling for the gassing of Jews today hating others over gender today is worse. Today being a victim is a badge of honor so hating the oppressors is more widespread and practically a normal part of culture.
@sonhouse saidAs I have told you, I don't care how much you dislike Trump or how much you think he is less than. I don't spend time here trying to get people to support him, but I don't jump on the Trump hate-bang wagon, if you want to have that conversation find someone else to talk to.
@KellyJay
And all Trump's moral failings slide off you like water off a ducks back. I bet you can't even admit he HAS moral failings. Much less now a 34 times convicted felon and he doesn't have his pet Judge Cannon to dismiss charges.
@KellyJay
Where did I ever mention hate? I am talking about his immoral ACTIONS, actions that make him TOTALLY unacceptable as a POTUS.
He is an ACTOR and entertainer, all you have to do is watch one of his rallies to see that, an actor portraying the play of POTUS.
He doesn't even WANT to be POTUS, WAY too much work so instead when he WAS POTUS he spent more time on the golf course than working legislations or foreign relations.
You have to know that. For instance, his tax bribe. Two Tril in reduced taxes telling us that money freebee will be used by companies to build factories in the US, but what they did instead was to use that windfall to do stock buy backs by the HUNDREDS of BILLIONS and their dow went up accordingly but the catch was the US really needed that lost revenue and therefore had to borrow to make up for the loss so the national debt rose by strangely enough two trillion dollars, NOT a coincidence, but in your none hatred you ignore EVERYTHING negative about him and that is just about EVERYTHING about him, 34 felonies is REAL but you will vote for him anyway no matter he WILL be a puppet to Project 2025, a Christian nationalist outfit from the Heritage foundation to do stuff like fire some 50,000 federal employees and replace them with people who swear allegiance to Donald Trump and NOBODY else, does that not bother you a TINY bit? That is only a small part of their manifest destiny manifesto of 900 pages of such tid bits completing the coup started Jan 6, and now it will be a bloodless conquest, and I suppose you would totally approve of White nationalists taking over the US.
@KellyJay saidKelly, you're kidding right?

When Martin Luther King Jr was murdered, many cities burned, as the one I was living in at that time. Everything else you mentioned happen then also only 10 fold.
You clearly do NOT remember much at all from the sixties; or history in general.
Yes, people need to work on their hate issues of others; you are correct there that's for sure. That includes the present.
@KingDavid403 saidI'm not kidding Martin Luther KIng was murder so was JFK there was muder the KKK was in full swing with member in congress too. You are pointing out a high profile murder, do you think the number of murders today dwarf the numbers back then?
Kelly, you're kidding right?

No. They do not. The population has almost doubled since the sixties.
