It's gotten to the point where people assume they will be around people who have a gun so they bring theirs too.
Americans have also seen numerous videos of a group jumping one or two people so they carry their gun for protection.

Fact is, the US is a crimogenic country with high rates of violence. Simple minded racist explanations like you and others peddle are clearly inadequate though it is hardly surprising that the problem is worse among those groups with high poverty rates and a history of being discriminated against and socially and physically isolated.
