-Removed-No. It doesn’t seem odd at all.
Perhaps they think the UK needs a helping hand to get up and running again?
All joking aside: they’re not EU citizens, they’re refugees.
The UK tory party has put forth a policy which is at odds with international agreements they’ve signed and extremely inhumane (the proposal is that if you enter a country illegally, you can’t ask for asylum… which is obviously fodder for the extreme right and practically a ban on many asylum seekers).
Gary Linneker from the BBC tweeted that the communication about this proposal from the tory party and press reminded him of the Nazi era propaganda (or something to this extent).
That has the right-wing media, who are extremely anti-BBC, up in arms. Squealing blue murder (as if being pro-humane is actually a political statement… oh, let’s be nice to people… ) and the BBC, bowed to this pressure and put Gary in a fridge to cool matters down.
But, Gary is very popular (as are the crisps he promotes) and many of his co-workers refused to work, while he was stuck in the proverbial freezer. And the whole sports section of the BBC ground to halt.
That’s what this is about:
Illegal propositions by the conservative party, pandering to a rabidly anti-immigrant, extreme right-wing bunch of little Englanders. And the right-wing tabloids grabbing every oppertunity to attack the BBC.
And Divegeester here, guzzling at the extremist teet of that propaganda.
Edit:
Just bumped into Jonathan Pie delicately explaining the matter:
-Removed-So you’re going with flippant then.
You know you’re only one who is calling the EU wonderful, albeit sarcastically. They have there own dives and Bravermans to keep happy and when these particular refugees / economic migrants go straight through their territories they are probably quite relieved but you obviously feel that these other countries should be press ganging them into accepting their citizenship.
Anyway there’s nothing to get stressed about dive, we can rest easy in the knowledge that Brexit gave us back control of our borders 🥳

-Removed-As usual you’re not making any valid points you’re just trying to score points against your eternal bogeyman the EU.
When are you going to address the fact that the small boat migrants had the UK in mind from day one of their journey just as some had Germany or France in mind from day one of their journey.
Given that you’re lying when you claim that they are EU citizens, unless you’re accepting that they are UK citizens just by virtue of landing on the beaches of southern England what is your actual point?
