Socialism, but only for people who can afford it.
Much of rural America enjoys the largess of federal subsidies. Trump country, of course.

"Socialism for me, not for thee."

Yup.
Moron.
The woman was killed by police officers, not Trump supporters.
"A woman was shot inside the Capitol by a member of law enforcement and later died, several law enforcement officials said"

My mother worked as a tour guide in the Capitol for many years. She says there is an underground electric railway which leads from the Capitol building to various secure locations around DC. The Congressmen would have been ferried out this way when the Capitol was breached. The Congressmen will be continuing the certification of the EC votes, probably by virtual links from several undisclosed locations. Expect the result to confirm Biden as the winner of the election. Trump is out, come hell or high water, at noon on January 20th -- that is, if he is not removed before that.

His staff may yet prevail on him to resign. Resigning would allow him to depart on his own terms, rather than concede defeat.

She had no business being there. The Capitol is a secure building: admittance to the Capitol building is for ticket-holders only.

Anyone caught breaching the WH perimeter would be shot on sight.

Yes, but if an Antifa/BLM/Democrap was shot for entering a public building he'd be all over it claiming she had a right to be there.

You thought wrong. I am neither a leftist nor a rightist, and no fascist either. I decide each case on its merits. Storming a federal building is a criminal offence, as Trump himself insisted not long ago. See the following thread:

Thread 187911

Law enforcement acted correctly to defend the Congressmen and -women inside from a mob which had no authority to enter a secure building when Congress was in session.

I haven't seen the phrase "mostly peaceful" in any of the headlines.

So weird.
All BLM protests started peaceful. The pushback from the police escalated the situation. And they actually protested peacefully instead of initiating violence towards the government.

The fact that these terrorists made it this far without being challenged in the least is the most obvious proof of white privilege I have seen since the Bundy standoff.

The fact that you consider this act of terrorism as "mostly peaceful" instead of law enforcement being complicit makes you an accomplice as well.

The fact that this isn't even the first time some maga dipshts comitted terrorism speaks volumes on the state of your democracy and rightful rule of law.

You are all spineless cowards, staying silent and condoning these acts.

I look forward to Biden showing immense bravery and vowing to let any republican representative or senator who incited these terrorists completely off the hook so they start liking him and unify the country.

A noble thought, but unlikely in the current climate where objective truth has been systematically subverted by a personality cult.

I have a prediction: in the aftermath of this most recent and blatant attempt by Trump to derail the electoral process, the Republican Party will split. There will be a faction of sensible Republicans who distance themselves from Trump (Romney has already condemned Trump for complicity in the assault on Capitol Hill), and there will remain a group of hard-core Trump-toadies and extremists who continue to believe his alternate-irreality. US politics were already polarised before Trump, and Trump exacerbated it; descent into factionalism is more likely than unification, I am sorry to say.

The post that was quoted here has been removed
The Capitol Building was left under protected intentionally so this would happen. That gave then the excuse to have congressmen ignore evidence in favor of irrelevant long winded speeches from almost all democrats and a few turncoat republicans like Romney. No evidence was discussed except lies like Dick Durbin told about the SCOTUS laughing Trump's case out of court. Never happened. An outright lie that nobody that wants a job will bring up.

They buried the evidence. The Capitol building riot was just the excuse they needed.

Seems to me that would trigger the dissolution of the Republican party and the formation of a new party more aligned with real conservative values and less with fascism.

Maybe could be a good thing?
