LOL! Even if some were, the majority were not. What is supposed to be your claim here? That all the media from the west is out to get Russia? Don't be ridiculous.
It seems to me you keep burying your uncritical head in the sand and live happily believing your government's motives are somehow pure. Even as they claim that a UN agreement is 'not important'. ...[text shortened]... o believe pravda.ru's reports about aliens and paranormal events? It wouldn't surprise me.
Originally posted by huckleberryhoundThis remains to be seen. There are reports stating that Georgian villages were attacked by South-Ossetian separatists on the 6th and 7th of August. That's the reason why Georgia sent troops to the region on August the 8th. This action was not meant to retake South-Ossetia, but to protect these Georgian villages. The Russians provoked the Georgian actions because they needed a pretext to justify their invasion of Georgian territory.
By all accounts, Georgia fired first. Closed case, i think.

Georgia broke the status-quo (held for 15 years) and all previous agreements in attacking South Ossetia (the attack coincided with the Olympic opening ceremonies, no less). They completely destroyed its capital, Tskhinvali, as well as killing more than 1500 people in the first night of bombardment alone. Everything including hospitals was shelled and bombed ...[text shortened]... re clear case of unprovoked agression with devasting results for the civilians than this attack?

Evidently, these two links support the assertion that the paramilitary units came from the north first. Notice the date on the first one, it mentions them on Thursday, well before Georgia starting fighting:

I don't think Bablefish does a very good of a job on translating these.
The information is important in order to assess what really happened.
Originally posted by ivanhoePerhaps I can help translate. The article says that all Russia really wants is peice.

In fact, all they want is a peice of Georgia, and a peice of Romania, All they want a peice of Poland and a peice of the Ukraine. Why can't they just have a peice?
Originally posted by ivanhoeThat theory doesn't explain the Georgian shelling and bombing of the capital city of South Ossetia which killed at least hundreds.

We don't know the facts yet of what exactly happened ... and besides ... what you bring forward doesn't contradict this scenario either.
How does the shelling and bombing of civilians in the capital of South Ossetia "protect Georgian villages"?

Of cours Russia is the dominate power in the region. I'm just trying to make clear the order in which this thing errupted. The Russians were supposed to be a peace keeping force for both sides. They did not uphold that end of the bargain. They set up the confrontation, then claimed that they are only doing it for humanitarian reasons. If they were doing ...[text shortened]... to happen and is trying to make it look like this thing wasn't their fault when it clearly is.
Hello infomast,
It would be nice if you would give us a report of what these articles are saying basicly. ..... You do speak Russian don't you ?
