Sometimes they do sometimes they don't. I think it depends on how many alerts they are dealing with. I usually will get a reason for my post being removed, but not always.

I've had a thread moved before from General to Sports. I thought it was gone but they told he it had been moved to sports, this was years ago. They haven't seemed to be as strict about that as they once were.

The thread seems to be gone from Announcements (probably due to the excessive discussion about my avatar) but when Russ announced that Debates would be wiped and I objected someone - I think Lemondrop - mentioned there were 22,000 threads in Debates (you can see the number of threads in each Forum on the Public Forums page). There are now about 15,000, so 7000 are gone in their entirety.

My guess is he knew the rough number of threads in Debates (it is visible if you click on "all public forums" ). It was evidently ~22000 before the Great Purge.

I can recall threads in my mind going back to when I first starting writing on here (I was still a schoolboy - it feels like forever ago), and I just had a look and many of them appear to have vanished.

That would be a feather in our caps if we could get the announcements forum suspended.
