GOP slogans-

Liberals don't work, want free stuff, hate America, hate the military, hate white people, are soft on crime, soft on terror, want open borders, are Socialist, Marxist freeloaders who lay around all day taking drugs, collecting welfare, - - while, hard working, white GOD fearing, Christian Conservatives not only carry the load for these freeloading Socialist Liberals, but want to return America to it's rightful place as that great shining city on the hill! 😆 😆 😆

Sound familiar?

Sorry Conservatives - these "feel good" slogans might stir up your base of supporters, but the general public just isn't buying it. Ask any Independent / Swing Voter and they'll tell you Liberals work, run business's, serve in the military, love their country, are against open borders (illegal border crossings were at an all time low under Obama) support the use of force against terrorists (it was the Obama administration that killed Bin Laden - not Bush) there are just as many Conservatives on public assistance as Liberals.

The GOP has lost the popular vote 6 out of the last 7 elections, and the gap is getting bigger. District gerrymandering will only slow the downhill slide. You folks on the Conservative side need some new talking points....before the GOP becomes only a regional party dominated by southern white men....

Those are the facts Jack - Just the facts! 😏

Conservatives actually do have good ideas and a history of successful governance. Too bad you can't find any of that that anywhere in the modern GOP.

The modern GOP are overwhelmingly negative. About everything. Look at your list of slogans/talking points. They quite literally have no party platform. It's rife with hypocrisy and ineptitude. The two main principles that have sustained their popularity over the years (fiscal restraint and limited government) are completely abandoned. Every time they're asked a tough question about anything they deflect and blame it on someone else. I can't remember the last time I heard a GOP politician give an inspiring speech. I think their brains have been hollowed out by an obsession with social media. When they're not on the tweetersphere they're complaining about it. Or complaining about something else. They complain a lot.

And you're right. Demographics will show that the GOP voters are voting against their self interest. As they realize that the GOP is complaining about Jeff Bezos in public but lobbying for his continued dominance behind doors they'll continue to slough off voters every cycle.

Frankly, I'm embarrassed I used to like those guys. They are trash humans. The GOP needs to be disassembled and reassembled from scratch.

The conservative base is shrinking relative to the liberal base.
Liberalism is not to be associated with Socialism or Communism.
But rather an open-minded world view.
Thinking along the lines of traditionalism, originalism and other forms of the "straight and narrow' thought just do not co-exist easily with human progress, which can be 2 steps forward and 1 step back, but generally a forward progress.

Voter suppression, practiced largely by conservatives, can only go so far.
At some point, there will be a tipping point where the GOP will no longer feel that the democratic process still works for them.
The COVID crisis which led to increased reliance on mail in ballots has revealed that the voter suppression tactics can easily be rendered ineffective.
That's why mail-in balloting raised a red flag with the conservatives as far back as May 2020.
Not because they were prone to voter fraud, but because they rendered voter suppression useless.
That many Republican states tried to "kneecap" USPS is ample proof of this simple fact.

Slogans are dumb -- simply most issues can't be resolve in a single sentence fragment. Reasonable people understand that most people like their country, don't want to freeload, and want appropriate punishment. But there are different ideas on qualifications for governmental assistance, the appropriate punishment for crimes, limitations/ restrictions government should put on businesses and police. If you want to discuss a particular issue, you might be able to get differing views. But no one really thinks slogans capture complex issues.

All those things are true, people just do not mind it anymore, at least for this election. At least the people counting the votes.

I wonder if you will live long enough to see the next time a Republican gets in and you need to change your tune.

Since you are the fitting person to respond to, imo......
We can all dispense with the free stuff, Socialism, Communism, freedom, etc, etc, etc .....

The battle lines in the current polarized world known as the United States are drawn between social conservatism and social liberalism.
Plain and simple.

You and others like you, but especially you, constantly talk about about having freedom, in its' absolute form.
You still haven't told this forum exactly how you would want to exercise that freedom.
Or how you would have wanted to exercise that freedom under a 2nd Trump term.
I've called you out several times before on exactly you want America to become, after you "take back your country".
But, hey !! You have to freedom to run and hide from that question.
And re-surface in another COVID thread down the road.

But ..... you have the floor.... 🙂

OK, I used that term generically to describe past, present and future. (abuse of grammar)
But I stand corrected. 😆

Here's a slogan the GOP should adopt:
Import the third world, become the third world.

Well, Eladar, you’ve been smacked with a glove. Take centre stage. Come on. The floor is yours.

Please answer the points raised.

There was a time when you imported a whole lot of Europeans but you didn’t become Europe did you, to put it another way your white population was taken solely from the ‘Old World’ but somehow you became the ‘New World’.
There is simply no way to disguise the racism in your slogan is there.

From an Irish point of view, we know what it is like to have your country raped and plundered. ( By England for 800 years ).

That's why most Irish people identify with the Democrats.
We are the underdog, the downtrodden rising up to throw off the shackles of oppression.

The Democrats represent sanity and logic and progress.

The Republican party in America now looks old and jaded.

Past tense. Out of ideas. It rests on laurels of white supremacy and racism and misogyny.

The have not progressed beyond the plantation.

They are now tied up with all kinds of crazy conspiracy theories ranging from blood drinking paedophiles to Jewish space lasers.

They have no place in Modern America.
