A savings account is not income. In order to make more than 30k from a savings account at 6% you would need $500,000 in the bank.

The $30k is income, take home pay from a job. OK, lets say it is $68K, the national average. Stay witih me here. It is Income.
I also have $40k in a bank which sends me a check for $2400 annually. So, I have $32,400 in income for one year. Whew. I cant believe I am doing this.
