@mott-the-hoople saidSolar powered cars have batteries. Know what batteries do? Store energy. You know, like for a cloudy day.
and on the calm cloudy days just do without...you folks really are gullible arent you?
@vivify saidSolar powered cars are one of the looniest green dream feelings. Every year they have a race for solar cars in Australia, The cars need special exemptions they're so unsafe, the driver usually lays in a prone position for aerodynamics forget air-con, it has flimsy lightweight wheels, probably no suspension to save weight, cannot carry passengers and no luggage and each car has a support team driving fossil fuel powered vehicles.

You might have a point if cars were made the size of football fields to have enough solar panels and forget about driving in winter. They might need to widen some streets.
@wajoma saidIt's like anything else; as solar powered vehicles become more common, they better they will be designed as competition increases and solar-powered cars become profitable.

You seem to think gas-powered vehicles are just magically superior to clean alternatives. The only thing that gives them an edge is the fact that businesses put more money and time into them because they're more profitable. Once solar-powered vehicles become cash-cows like regular vehicles, they too will perform better as companies improve them in order to make more money from sales.
@shavixmir
All this idiot whoople has is bitching, weaponizing anything he can to make Biden look bad and his god king get reinstated.
@Metal-Brain
Er, you ever hear of that insignificant car the Tesla? Or the Volt? Or electric bicycles going some 25 mph and a 40 or so mile range.
If you have solar at your house, that can recharge a car and there is zero carbon involved.
@vivify saidYou ijit, there's not enough energy from the sun even if every inch of your car were a solar panel, doesn't matter the design or how efficient the panels are.

There's not enough energy in a car sized area to drive anything that resembles a practical car. it's like talking to a happy clapping god bothering evangelist.
Learn some basic physics for chrissakes.
Your car needs to be 10 or 20 times the size it is now to capture enough energy from the sun. What a frickin tard.
@vivify saidsomething you greenies never think about...batteries have a finite life span...how do you dispose of an ever increasing amount of "forever chemicals"?

@wajoma saidWhat are you talking about? Solar-powered cars already exist and have for years.

I predict this will be another thread where you embarrass yourself. Grab your popcorn, guys.

@vivify saidYes they exist and they don't come anywhere close to being practical and they require support vehicles where ever they go, and they're made of exotic and expensive materials like titanium and carbon fibre, and they haven't got a hope of passing safety standards in any country. No doubt you could purchase one if you're mug enough.
Solar powered cars exist and can be purchased. You've lost before you even posted.
You win the dolt boy prize.
