@shallow-blue saidTesla has cars that run on both solar and electric power, though electricity is the primary source.
So, not solar-powered cars, then.
(As for what Tesla says...)

Teslas are electric cars with solar roofs that allow it to run on solar power for a few miles.
@vivify saidhaha what an ijit "a few miles".

The psychological disorder in play here is amusing.

@vivify saidYou know, there's this joke about someone who sells lark pies. A delicacy, usually very expensive. He sells them for 3 dollars, though, and yet makes good money.
Tesla has cars that run on both solar and electric power, though electricity is the primary source.
His friend gets suspicious and asks him about it. "Well," he says, "I do cheat a bit. It's not fully lark pie - it's fifty-fifty." "Fifty-fifty?" "Sure. For each lark I use in the filling, I add one bull."
By the same token, a car that goes a few miles on solar power and the rest of the journey on coal-fired electricity is not solar-powered or even solar-electric. It's mostly bull.

I doubt they said that
"Tesla says it will power all Superchargers with renewable energy this year"
How are they going to make them 100% solar?
Solar power is not the only form of renewable energy; there are also wind turbines. I'm guessing the later is what Tesla will use.
@vivify saidthat was in 2021...whats the problem?

@mott-the-hoople saidJust informing MB since he doesn't think Tesla actually promised to have 100 percent renewable charging stations. They did say it.

Charging stations with 100 percent renewable power already exist.
@vivify saidI see you're still not answering the real questions.

One, Tesla says a lot, but what's their greenwashed reality?
Two, how many tenths of percents of this is actually solar-powered?
