No no no….as usual you reconstruct a post. Your post above is about 70000 under Trump like it was hell already. No, it is hell now, WGrass. You might reread. 70000 vs 200,000 (in just 20 days this month) All you fellers having me explain a bit too much.
As a sidenote, why in the hell do you people continue to defend Biden, and his wide open border policy to al ...[text shortened]... ese people to come in without passports? Without vetting? sorry, I did not mean to get carried away.
I got it. It was a crisis back then. No Republicans did anything. It's a worse crisis now. Still Republicans do nothing.

Meanwhile you keep on voting for them.

I am not defending Biden. But you are defending do-nothing trump and all do-nothing Republicans.. they're the ones that claim to know how to fix this problem.

You are right I wonder myself why they do not stop this invasion of our country. Have you noticed that none of you liberals ever do say that this is an invasion of our country that needs to be stopped?
No one ever ever ever has mentioned it. However, you come closest with this post. Thank you maybe you have a following.

I've called and will call it an invasion. Plenty of libs too. Biden calls it a crisis. Congressional Republicans do nothing. What makes you think they're even trying?

@wildgrass - What makes you think they're even trying?

You're right. NOBODY is trying to stem the tide. They gotta' be making a bloody fortune.

The new mayor of Chicago had some laws passed to stem the tide of busses with aliens from coming into Chicago.
"No problem-o", says the governor of Texas, as he sent planes of aliens to the windy city๐Ÿ™‚

Well, it is Christmas lol

The govt is huge, full of people and possibilities. and no one does anything. I can see why Dems sit back on this issue, each alien is another vote for Dems, free stuff, hotel rooms, etc. I can see that.
So yes, let us fault the republicans . They have been our only hope. Pisspoor. What a sacrifice the Dems are doing. Give away America to prop up an old mummy. Jesus Christ.

A question no lib will answer. I will ask again.
Do you think that a person who is not a citizen of this country should vote in this country.?

Republicans keep telling us they can solve the problem. You are saying it is not solvable?

I don't see any evidence that Republicans even try to solve problems. They are in charge of Congress, constantly yelling about a crisis, but don't propose anything to fix it?

Why do you vote for those feckless sloths?

I have never heard Bidenadmit that it is a crisis.

You don't answer questions.

Also, you prefer words over actions.

What makes it a "crisis"?

The vast majority of people trying to enter the US want nothing more than to flee oppression and poverty and make a better life for themselves and their families here. For most of our history, we've gladly accepted such immigrants and they've improved the country both economically and by increasing cultural diversity.

True, our immigration system is a mess and needs to be overhauled to streamline the admission of these individuals and weed out the few who might be criminals or undesirables. But that's been so for decades.

MAGA Republicans have done nothing, nothing, all year to help fix the problems they fixate on. Lower costs? Nothing. Immigration? Nothing. Budget deficits? Nooooothing.

A productivity score of 0. Instead they operate in an environment that rewards chaos and fear and crisis.
You say "MAGA Republicans" have done nothing.

Are there numerous "non-MAGA Republicans" doing something and getting something done?

Democrats hold the senate and the presidency. If you were in congress, tell us what you'd be doing?

As voters, what should we be doing? Republicans aren't doing a sufficient job standing in opposition to Democrat policies. Do we vote for Democrats to remedy that?

Is it your position that if the minority power is not getting things done, that we should then join the majority party?

You idiot. Illegals cannot vote.

Here's some interesting testimony from David Bier in 2021 from the right wing libertarian Cato Institute:

"The simple answer to the question that this hearing poses—why don’t immigrants get in line?—is that immigrants cannot legally get into “the line”—that is, apply for legal permanent residence on their own. To the extent that the U.S. government allows legal immigration, it is based almost exclusively on selection or sponsorship by the U.S. government or U.S. families, employers, or other sponsors. Thus, the question could be restated: why can’t Americans let immigrants get into “the line”? The answer to this question is that the government effectively bans them from doing so.

It is important to start with the basic legal framework for U.S. immigration. Unlike most other areas of law familiar to Americans, all immigration is presumptively illegal unless immigrants prove that they fall within a few narrow exceptions based on U.S. sponsorship or selection, and most exceptions have hard numerical limits.2"

"Prior to the 1920s, the legal framework was reversed: nearly all immigration was
presumptively legal unless the government found that an immigrant fell within a category specifically barred.
3 Today, the only immigrants who can immigrate permanently from abroad without numerical limits are the spouses, minor children, and parents of adult U.S. citizens,4 and even they have more potential bars to obtaining legal permanent residence than ever.5

The result is that the United States has allowed a much lower rate of permanent legal immigration as a percentage of its population than in the years before the Immigration Act of 1924 (Figure 1).6 On average, from 1820—when the records begin—to 1924, the country allowed an average annual rate of immigration equal to about 2/3 of a percent of its population. This would be the equivalent of nearly 2.2 million people today, triple the number of new legal permanent residents in 2020, and more than double any year in the last decade.

In several years before 1925, the rate hit 1.5 percent of the population, which today would be nearly 5 million immigrants. In 2019, the rate had fallen 80 percent from those peaks, and it has plummeted even lower since the pandemic. Moreover, more than half of new immigrants in recent years have adjusted to permanent residence after they had already entered the United States either illegally or with temporary statuses, meaning that the rate of new immigrants from abroad is lower still."

No.

This is how the repubs can nail him for dereliction of duty, and possibly, aiding and abetting.

Yes, I still dream ๐Ÿ™‚

Biden cannot do anything about the border as long as the Right keeps a chokehold on government funding.
