Teach your kids about unrestrained capitalism:

Employ your kids to take out the trash and make them pay for their supper with the pennies you pay them. If they try to organize a strike for better pay and conditions, throw them out and hire the neighbor kids for less.

If they give you any sass, let Adam Smith's visible hand warm their backsides.

Don't provide free healthcare for your kids. Make them choose between life-saving medicine or eating.

Socialism is when the people as a whole control the means of production. Why would the people not do for themselves what they've said they would do?

More examples right-ringers don't know what they're talking about.
They couldn't. Can you imagine the nightmare, from management on down to the floor sweeper? haha
Anyway, let us discuss any country where the 'People' (brrrrrr) control the means of production where it has worked.
Where it has worked. Just pick one of the countries to discuss. Or several of them , whatever suits.

I looked back at the OP. I don't get what you are saying here. You seem to be gettin emotional, which ruins threads. Please.
How about you help discussing the countries where it has worked.

Dialectic materialism.

Come on. Explain to us what that is and why you think it’s incorrect.

That is the basis of socialism. If you can’t explain Hegel’s critique of Kant and how Marx transitioned idealism to materialism, then you can’t actually comprehend socialism.

If you want a serious debate on this subject, that’s what we need to discuss.

Where does working for what you have play in in you head?

Not working for what you have has nothing to do with socialism.
Dialectic materialism. Until you discuss that, this debate is pointless. Because you don’t actually understand what you’re talking about.

You see yourself as a child and the state as your mommy and daddy, or daddy and daddy?

Makes sense given your posting record.

That’s all I’ve been asking. Teach me and go deeper, from the basics, I want to learn.

Hell I may be a woke liberal, watch out you crazy right wingers. If it’s all true I’m going to cancel you out because you have no place in the world one way or another. Our beliefs on the world are based on facts , truth and logic with proper techniques to prove it through love and compassion.

Sorry. Do some reading.
You want to debate socialism or philosophy, you come to the table prepared.

The OP wants to embolden kids against socialism. Interesting, but the poser has no grasp of what socialism is. I could just as well say: I want to embolden kids against capitalism. So I’m banning marbles.

Doesn’t make any sense.
If you oppose something, you have to be able to explain what you’re opposing. You can’t expect people to explain what you’re opposing for you.

Have you thought I’m trying to get some involved to try and show how stupid their agendas are? I’m going to basics for your sake da.

vivify - There is no legitimacy to claims that people won't work in a socialist society.

And when you turn full power over to the socialist,, there is no guarantee that will do what they *said* they will do.

All politicians are ambitious for power and will do anything to achieve it - including, *LIE* their asses off.
How many times do you need to see history repeated, viv
In America yes, I agree with you: politicians promise the moon during campaigns and then do whatever they want to, or whatever their minders tell them, after they get into power. It's not like that everywhere else. I know this is hard for Americans to believe, but there are actually countries where elected officials do what they were elected to do. The Nordic countries score consistently well on indexes of low govt corruption, high public confidence in govt, public integrity in not bilking the system, and accountability of public officials -- all these indexes are markedly different in America and that's why socialism works in some countries and will never work in America. And yes, I know, some people think the Nordic countries aren't socialist -- it's an arbitrary definition issue. They are much more socialist than America ever will be.

Please explain. when children are younger there’s more important things to teach. Can you guess a few, do you have children and how old?
What are you babbling about, what is more important than what?
Yes I have children and grandchildren what’s your point?

"Inoculate your kids against socialism!! All you have to do is have them clean the bathroom! Pay them $10, and then take away $7 and give it to their sibling who would not help!"

There are several people on this forum who were raised under this premise, and still are!!!! They have written about it!!! Jesus. I cannot imagine. I'm glad I saw this, because I ...[text shortened]... ove! He'll thank me when he starts making his pie!!!!! His own pie. Not part of someone else's .

Only the self-sufficient will survive. That's just what Joe wants. That's the law of the jungle; that's how every other creature in nature acts: the diseased, the old and infirm, the handicapped and the deformed, are ostracized and hunted down by predators. But that is not how h.saps prevailed over large cats and mammoths. How h.saps prevailed was by cooperating, by providing for the common good, each member of the clan doing what he was able and each receiving what he needed, by providing for the injured, the old and infirm, the handicapped and the deformed. The most ancient human graves ever uncovered are evidence of this. The problem with this now is that populations are too large for the compassion, which made it work in the clan, to function at this scale. No one can have compassion for 1,000 people, much less tens of millions of people, and every attempt, religious and ideological (Jesus, Karl Marx, etc.), to inculcate compassion has failed.
