@wajoma saidI wasn't saying people pretend that. As you're saying, I agree it is pointless comparing the cost of the wall to the cost of all immigration.
haha, back to 'eliminate', what an ijit, doesn't know when to let it goooooooo.
The strawman is that no one pretends that a wall will (and I quote wildgrass here) "eliminate" illegal immigration.
You said it, you made it up, you then attacked what only you posted.
@wildgrass saidNot really pointless. I could compare building a swimming pool to just paying a $20 daily fee to swim in a local pool all I want. It is done all the time. What is wrong with you libs. Absolutely no common sense.

This may help you, which numbers, by the way, work out to $9000 per migrant per year.

@averagejoe1 saidYour analogy would compare the cost of building a wall around the pool to the cost of pool maintenance? In what world is there a point to that?

@Wajoma
One problem is it is not the southern border with the most illegal crossing, it is Canadian border that has more illegals so what do you do then? Make a 2500 mile long 50 foot high wall across the north? AND another 2000 mile one on the south? What about illegals coming in by boat and landing in New Jersey or Oregon?
I know, make a wall to stop all boats coming in, only another 4000 miles long on the oceans, maybe THAT would stop all those rapists and drug dealers and murderers from getting in.
@wajoma saidYep. Textbook strawman.

@wildgrass saidOh, Wilde-beast. You seem to add 1) a wall and 2) maintenance... in Wildgrass-ease.
Your analogy would compare the cost of building a wall around the pool to the cost of pool maintenance? In what world is there a point to that?
I guess I could embellish my 'posit', by adding what else we would pay, for the people on the other side of our border.
So, How about free college and free healthcare and free cell phones and free ______ fill in blank. Oh, and where do they get their food? I did notice my loaf of bread was short by 2 slices today.
So, I guess we can agree that the issue remains.
Geez. If you libs were not weenies, you might make a good soldier in the field with this fighting spirit. But alas, your track record evidences that you would lose every time.
@sonhouse saidYou are correct, and especially with your phrase 'one problem' . There are many other problems in our hemisphere, and it seems that our country absorbs and has to fool with, and pay for, every damn one of them. Has Shav's country sent billions to Ukraine? How bout ole Romania Zahlanzi, who can smell the smoke wafting into his border.

Yeah it is a problem. Funny thing is, that there are people on this very forum that think we should not build a wall to keep people from all over the world illegally entering this country.
Do you have ANY idea how horrible that is to true patriots such as myself? Next one of you will say patriotism is overrated. Not a problem to read it, as I simply consider the source of simpletons, but it is a problem to know that we have traitors in our midst. Are you one? OK with not having a border?
@techsouth saidWhaaaat? I thought this was obvious, and we already went over it earlier in the the thread. It turns out we agreed that it's not appropriate to compare the cost of the wall to the cost of immigration, because border walls obviously won't eliminate it. The point went over your head I guess.
Yep. Textbook strawman.
@averagejoe1 saidI'm not adding anything. I'm trying to fit your pool analogy into a thread comparing the cost of a wall to the cost of immigration.

@lundos saidlundos copy/pastes some unrelated stats ("How to Lie with Statistics;" Darrell Huff) and thinks he's way up the intellectual ladder, can't even see how the numbers don't help. Talks about personal attacks while posting personal attacks.
I guess that's expected from the lowest rung of "freethinkers". Nothing concrete, nothing based on reality, and lots of vague personal attacks.
"Genuine benevolence" to be fair the word 'benevolence' should not need the word 'genuine' tacked onto the front of it, hence your confusion. There was at one time 100's of what were called Friendly Societies in the UK, where neighbors would band together and have working bees and communal days to help out those in need in the neighborhood, as the welfare state grew in the UK so the Friendly Societies disappeared, people in need became the responsibility of goobermint, and as goobermint assumed more of a role in charity so people stepped back from genuine benevolence and community. After all they already 'gave' when picking up their weekly paycheck.
@wildgrass saidGive it up, man.
I'm not adding anything. I'm trying to fit your pool analogy into a thread comparing the cost of a wall to the cost of immigration.
OK, for fun, I will state the obvious. The wall will be built and we will get a final bill. At that time, President Trump will sign the last check and be paraded by his patriots. The wall will cost NOTHING after that.
But if we have President Buttegieg, (there would be no wall) the cost of immigrants will never stop. It will never stop. It will grow. It will never stop. So, which is cheapest?
Wildgrass?
@averagejoe1 saidLol. "Paraded by his patriots"

You're in a cult.
@wildgrass saidWell, is that not a realistic thought, presidents in parades.? You were OK with FDR, Kennedy, Carter, et al. Biden, I think he has been in a parade.
Lol. "Paraded by his patriots"
You're in a cult.
So you feign disdain for parades, fooling no one, being obvious that you lost your ass on this debate. This would be a great opportunity to get some street** creds if you just admit you were wrong. That you lost to AvJoe. Whew.
**You libs are quite familiar with streets. Your holy hordes are sleeping in them in Kamala's front yard!!!! hahahaha. No where to do toilet action, oh my lord, can you imagine. Think I will lock my door and get under the cover.
Biden owns this, you know. What a shyte
@AverageJoe1
I don't care what the wall would have cost, all I care about is that my country is being invaded by the 20+ nations south of us by the millions, with no end in sight.
Even worse, they are instantly given full medical benefits and free housing, which we don't get, along with money/food stamps, etc.
In another generation that will be all that is left of America....
