Hypocrite!
@averagejoe1 saidAnother "Great White Hope" that put us trillions in debt.
Shav, humor was my saying at the outset that I need to 'learn this to you again'. BTW, humor is not actually meant to elicit a laugh, as you suggest up top. It is to bring people comfortably to a gregarious level or some such. Did you research Maruader? Do Sonhouse too!
It is used for a lot of things. Reagan used it a good bit.
Not that funny, really.
@suzianne said" love you, G.I Jane 2 can't wait to see it" Repellent?? GI Jane is supposed to be a strong female role model.
This is the first opinion on this that makes sense.
Comedians are known for roasting people. Sometimes they cross the line. But to disallow them from feeling free to exercise their free speech for fear of somebody rushing the stage is a valid point.
If Smith had not used violence in his reaction to Rock, then Rock would have been forced to own up to his repellent rem ...[text shortened]... t the slap than they are the outrageous thing Rock said that caused the reaction in the first place.
How easy it is to slip into victim mode.
BTW, Will Smith was out of line but the joke?, just a joke and one laced with a massive complement.
@jimmac saidJust one post without all the twisting, please.

If someone made fun of my medical condition, I don't think I'd feel "massively complimented".
@suzianne saidits funny because it was my wife that said it was a compliment, and that was knowing her condition. It about humor making light of a serious situation.

And I suspect that you look for ways to " spot the victim "
He DID NOT make fun of her medical condition, not at all.

@jimmac saidSorry I don't know anything about pro sports, I was just segue-ing away from Suzianne's implying that the Chris Rock comedian person was making fun of the Will guy's wife's medical condition, as if such a thing could be comprehended. Of course he did not know about it, but Suzianne need to manufacture a rise out of us all. Didn't work.

Do you fellers co-exist with liberals over there?
