Ok, people, take it easy... this is a thread to debate the Iranian
regime's decision to crush free speech and censor its citizens.

😠

No gay bashing here nor fooling around with the States.

What's this--trying to control what people say?

Your thread is a smokescreen for a personal attack on another RHP user. As for Iran, well, the president would probably see eye-to-eye with Robert Mugabe, who's instituted similar practical solutions for keeping journalists, bloggers, and other inconvenient citizens in line. And what's the deal in China?

Phew .. luckily (for us) you're not American.

If I lived in a Nation of girly-boys i'd hate America too .. not enough gays to keep you busy.
You're just a fountain of stupidity, aren't you? 😵

Or, in the words of any great advocate: "I rest my case".

This kind of language doesn't encourage debate though, only hate.

While not as onerous as the Iranian law, the US very nearly enacted something along the same lines and you say "it sucks" whereas you use phrases like "crush free speech" and "censor its citizens" when it refers to Iran.

It seems to me you often struggle to notice when your personal feelings have over ruled your brain. You need to let go of the emotion.

I like Vulcan philosophy too. In a purely non-emotional sense, of course.

This forum a nice space for all of us to act out that everyday psychopathology. One day you'll be able to do a PHD in applied avatar psychology.

requiring them to register their websites and blogsites with the
authorities.
If course if they were not simultaneously developing a nuclear program and making various remarks about Israel then nobody would care what they do with bloggers.
How many other countries uses censorship? How many are stricter than Iran.

Let's not confuse not liking Iranian regime with loving the U.S. without criticism, Wheel.

Do you dislike me criticizing Iran while not doing the same with the U.S.?

I know the U.S. has many problems right now with freedom, due to
measures taken by the U.S. government, yet I think those flaws in
the current American system are (i) balanced with many other liberties
and (ii) temporary, because of the 'American spirit' and its enriching
diversity.

I think to use negative emotional language to describe those you don't like but use off hand comments to describe those you do when both have done pretty much the the same thing suggests either an intentional or unintentional lack of objectivity.

I don't care if you love th US, Iran, both or none. I am merely pointing out that you do not treat them both with the same critical eye.
