A nuclear war more more likely now than it has ever been, but you keep spreading misinformation claiming nukes can be hacked on the internet. If that was the case they would have been hacked a long time ago.

AI is dependent on internet connections and electricity. Shutting off the electric grid would cripple a rogue AI, so it could never get us all even if it wanted to. But AI doesn't have independent goals. It does not scheme devious plans to replace humanity. It cannot just decide humans are inferior and need to be replaced by eliminating them. Hate is what humans do, not computer programs. They are incapable of hate.

And that is WAY before they get to GIA GENERAL INTELLIGENT AI.

Why is an AI that is smarter than you scare you so much? It is as if you think AI will decide on it's own people are inferior and best eliminated. People are still more creative than AI. Your worst fear is they will enslave us and make us invent things for them. But you cannot even explain how AI could do that. AI cannot feel superior. That requires an ego. AI has no ego.

scare ME so much? I am not world class intelligent, just gifted in some ways, I am SCARED if AI becomes smarrter than ANY human dead or alive and BTW Bill Gates just issued a warning wherehe thinks BILLIONS could die as a result so me not worried? Take a guess.

I posted a threads months ago about the possibility of using AI to kill Bill Gates after my death. What a coincidence.
It is nice to know Bill Gates has my attention. Perhaps he would like to use my talents for things that would benefit us both. I would make a much better friend than an enemy.

Keep in mind it's not that the AI machines will ever decide "we should kill humans". It's that they independently become agnostic to human harm while completing other tasks.

The issue with talking through the scenarios is that the possibilities are endless. I heard one scenario where a kid could train an AI to create a virus to kill his girlfriend who just dumped him. He ...[text shortened]... scientific knowledge and technological capabilities beyond our own and agnostic of human interests.

I am glad you acknowledge AI cannot decide things like people do. That is a good sign of progress because people like sonhouse have a bad case of Anthropomorphism. He keeps freaking out over AI becoming smarter than us as if it can decide it is superior than people or something.

The paperclip hypothetical analogy is an interesting one, but AI does not have the ability to make paperclips so it cannot even start the task. At worst AI has the ability to be annoying. There is no robot army AI can control. This requires a leap of assumptions of future events that would lead to it. Now we are back to the terminator movies. Sci-fi silliness. That is so far away I can only conclude it is best to make mistakes with AI now than to wait until a skynet scenario is actually possible.

Remember how you were concerned about the AI companies being held liable? The big AI companies that scared everyone want the opposite of what you want. Except Bill Gates. He said he wants more regulation. Huang wants none. Said they are spreading fear for ulterior motives. Said they (the bigger AI companies) want less laws, not more.
