The problem is so deeply embedded that it’s become more of a fact than a problem (problems being solvable).
I can tell you that 95% of the planet is glad trump lost the election. That the man is a narcissist and that the world thinks it is better for the world and the US not to have someone like that in charge.
And all you will see is justification why you should support the man.
This isn’t even a capitalist vs communist dispute. This is trump’s rhetoric, lying (even with camera based evidence proving the man is void of reality) and whipping up polarization.
And this is a proces that’s been going on in the US since the 60’s.
The 80’s sped up the poverty-divide.
And, since Obama, paranoid conspiracies have taken over the republican base’s political motivations, with their politicians adding fuel to the flames. Resulting in things like trump and Mitch McConnell’s brazen hypocrisy (which, don’t forget, sets very ugly precedencies).
It is not normal to carry guns to demonstrations.
It is not normal for vigilante groups to help police demonstrations.
It is not normal to demonize political opponents.
It is not normal to give your political opponents nick-names.
Etc.
And if you, on an international chess forum, can’t be convinced of this, what chances do you think republicans without international connections are going to have to step back from the brink?
