The article uses the wording such as "identifies as a woman", it does not state that the perpetrator has transitioned and it is therefore not clear that he/she has any real intention of so doing. That some criminals are using transgender identity as cover does not entail that people who genuinely are women born in mens bodies, or vice versa, are deserving of social mistreatment.

Of course, there are some political positions you cannot have and be a Christian, but a lot of this actually comes down to the fact that there are many ways to skin a cat.
Christians can be on opposite sides politically.
