@wajoma saidHe's one of your "favorite" authors yet you can only recite a quote found almost exclusively on right-wing websites, used almost only in reference to climate change.
Ijit, why do you even try that crap, I've got a decent Mencken collection** and even a first edition. vvanker.
One of my favorite authors.
Your post is classified: desperation
Haha
**Including the Terry Teachout biography 'The Skeptic" (trigger word for vivfy), who is clearly a lefty but did an excellent job and only allowed a couple of dabs of his politics to creep in. Recommended.
I don't care if you have a book hanging up next pictures of your victimized koalas, you never read anything by him.
@sonhouse saidWho are you kidding, definitely not me or anyone else, are you fooling yourself? could that be it?
@Wajoma
So tell us YOUR vision of the future of climate change.
Just curious, what do you plan to do say in 20 or 30 years when your island starts to get covered with rising sea levels? Just normal weather, go back home folks, nothing to see here.......
Because the one thing you're not interested in is anyones POV, except to call a lot of people names like 'lying rightwing POS' over and over and over.
But one thing you're right on, it's a sonhouse post 'nothing to see here."
Byeeee
@vivify saidLet us see how honest vivify is, let's google the Mencken quote and see what the first 20 hits are:

So if you search the quote overwhelmingly the result is websites that have collected random quotes in order to drive traffic to their site so they can then collect ad revenue. Not one of the first 20 hits was "almost exclusively on right-wing sites, used almost (you know when you start stacking 'almosts' it's looking shakey) only in reference to climate change".
So now we've reached the unpleasant point where there is no recourse other than to say vivify is an outright liar. It's all there in plain sight. Kinda sad, but better out than in.
Edit: And it is sad because on an anonymous message board about all we have is the integrity attached to our nom de plumes, once that's gone, there's not a lot left, nothing physical, just nothing.
@wajoma saidObviously I'm not referring to sites that merely collect quotes. When used by actual people to make any sort of point, it's almost only right wingers.

If you exclude sites that do nothing but collect quotes, the first few results include right-wingers like Bill O'Reilly, The National Review, some blog complaining about open borders, etc.
Anyone who's not a dipsh;t wouldn't assume I was including sites that do nothing but collect quotes like you did.
@vivify saidRoger that, message received.

It's 'almost' right wingers except when it's not, and it's 'almost' global warming except when it's not, it could be border control but it's not, you need to filter out those ones, it could be Bill O'Reilly except only when he's talking about climate change, because when he's not, it's not, and it's definitely not the first 20 search results, no one should look there when searching a quote.
You must realise this sort of squirming and denial is worse than the original lie.
That's the ways lies work, unless you fess up, you need to pile more lies on top of more lies.
Here's another quote, and if you follow the advice therein, it is life changing.
‘This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.’
I won't attribute the author, for 1/ you should know it and 2/ it'll give you the opportunity to search it and the then search the search results for some right wingers ;^P
As far as squirming goes, you've reached a new low.
@wajoma saidYawn.

@sonhouse saidYou're as bad as vivify with her lies, I have never denied that the climate changes, never.
@Wajoma
So you clearly are a climate change denier. Do you also say the holocaust was fake too?
I'll give you 100:1 odds on that, if you can find evidence that I've denied climate change I'll give you $10 000, if you can't then you give me $100. You have a week starting now.
@vivify saidLet's try the ensuing 20 search results on our hunt for 'almost exclusively right wingers' and 'almost' 'climate change'.

The first 20 revealed not 'almost exclusively', not most, not some, not a few 'right wingers' and 'climate change'. ZERO
This is what I entered into the search bar: "The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule."
21/ quotemaster.org

24/ rare-gallery.com wall papers
25/ idlehearts.com quote site, daily quotes etc, nothing about climate
26/ books.google.com not a thread, no right wingers, not about the climate
27/ books.google.com takes you to a page of a book by 'John Thomas Nall' who describes himself as a conservative libertarian. So at 27 we have our first extreme far right nazi. But nothing about the climate, so a fail.

41/ google.books.com Takes us to a page in a book 'The Phoenix File' The author quotes Mencken but I can not discern the bias for or against Mencken or the quote.
42/ programme-tv.net It's in French, there's a limit to my search for right wing climate changers
43/ menckenhouse.org What a find, and it makes this whole exercise worthwhile, will be revisiting to explore this site, bravo, this is gold. Nothing about climate change.

@shavixmir
The main problem with EV's is the lithium Ion battery, besides being extremely expensive, they make a lot of greenhouse gasses just mining and using the lithium, and besides that, those dam batteries are prone to catching fire AND be piss poor in very cold weather.
EV's won't really take off till we get much better batteries, like the Sodium Air battery, still in development I think but twice the energy density so something like twice the range on a full charge.
But getting the charge time down is a huge challenge.
If you have a 150Kwhr battery like going on one EV now, if you cram 150 kilowatts into it, the time to full charge would be a full hour, since that is what 150 kilowatt hours means, it can supply 150 thousand watts for one hour.
So you want to do it in say 6 minutes, then you have to pump in 1.5 MEGAwatts for that 6 minutes. If you want to do it in 3 minutes, it takes THREE megawatts. That is a LOT of energy. Even 150 kilowatts is huge, like 1000 volts at 150 amps.
And 1.5 megs, 1000 volts at 1500 amps.
Sounds like a bit of a problem to me.
@Wajoma
You don't deny climate CHANGE, you just deny humans are the cause. Same fukking thing.
You are into denial.
We are like pooping in our own bedrooms the way we are screwing up the planet and I don't see how you can see the uptick in temps in the past 200 odd years having nothing to do with humans.
@sonhouse said6 more days and you'll owe me $100, you're going to need to do better than that.
