@dood111 saidif we begin with the premise that all politicians lie, it makes more sense to me to focus on the lies that are truly harmful.
Not the first time she made up a story about her family life.
She said that while she never had children of her own, she knew all about being a mother because she had a big hand in raising her husbands two children, whom she claimed called her mom, etc.
When she married him the son was in his third year of college and the daughter was a high school sophomore. They lived wi ...[text shortened]... to make herself out to be something she's not and you don't think that detracts from her character?
@dood111 saidAnd yet you trust trump...
It's just an example of how sick she is.
You can't trust people that make up stories like that.
Same with Biden and his stories about growing up, they're obvious BS.
By the way Biden said he had a plan for fixing the Covid crisis but I notice he has yet to tell anyone even though it was a major part of his campaign promises.
Have you ever thought that maybe in her memory she might actually think she’s always celebrated something?
Sort of like me, who since 1977 saw Star Wars more than 50 times (give or take) and only four years ago discovered that C3PO had one silver coloured leg.
Maybe it was 2 years ago, maybe 10.
Maybe I saw the film 20 times. I dunno. It’s just how my memory works.
The bigger problem in this story is why Kamala thinks anyone cares about what she did or did not celebrate, why anyone cares what she celebrates and why anyone would even bother to research a claim she’s made about something so bloody trivial.
It is, you see, a sign of the polarization which is ripping your nation apart.
@shavixmir
So pandering and lying to blacks is ok because...ya know... according to shavypoo...it's just trivial 🙄
I agree good buddy...
You can say anything to them and they fall for it and then vote for it 😆
The post that was quoted here has been removed1. All politicians lie.
2. Anyone who wants to be a politician is unfit for the job.
3. The only way to stop the behaviour is that if you get caught out on a lie, you get sacked from governmental positions and the media can brand you a liar.
4. Unless it is relevant for your position in government, your past behaviour shouldn’t be an issue and politicians shouldn’t be judged by it.
But because 4 is obviously not a thing, the rest fall into place and we’re forced to live with lying, decietful people who will say anything to stay in a position of power.
@cheesemaster saidThe voters and the media create the culture which entices and forces politicians to lie.

I couldn’t care less about kawoozoo or whatever the hell this is all about. If a politician doesn’t celebrate Xmas or Easter or woman’s lib day or whatever. I couldn’t care less.
I am not overly sentimental or empathic towards cultural celebrations. Unless it comes with great food and loads of wine. Then I’ll celebrate whatever comes my way.

@dood111 saidI have to tell you that I've seen this video and I've read this thread, and I've lived through four years of the worst presidency this nation has ever seen. This is why I cannot believe that no one in this thread has yet stood up to you and called you a bald-faced liar, because that's what you are.
Says as a child it was a big deal for her whole family across several generations.
What an obvious self-serving lie, it wasn't invented until two years after her birth and it didn't begin to catch on for twenty years.

It's as believable as Biden's fairy tale about standing up to Corn Pop and his gang while wearing a Speedo..
Kamala Harris was two years old when Kwanzaa was created. How much do you remember of your life before two? I'm guessing not much. What she actually said was that she and her sister grew up celebrating Kwanzaa every year. "Grew up" with it. When I might say to someone that I "grew up" with something, I don't mean before I was old enough to remember it. I mean from the age of earliest memory, which for me was around four, to my teens, at least. I have no doubt that Kamala was telling the truth about this, and yet everyone in this thread, to a person, says she lied about it. I understand why the right would do this, with their ulterior motive of wanting to misrepresent the left as "liars", especially considering we've all just experienced a president who has lied more than ANY president EVER. What I cannot understand is those in this thread on the left, who have all tried to "explain" WHY she lied, when it is totally apparent to me that she did NOT lie. If this is the best we can hope for, from those who purport to be on the left, then this incoming administration simply doesn't need "help" like this. Then we have the racists, on the right AND the left, decrying that she "lied" because she's simply not "black enough" to have an authentic Kwanzaa experience, and that she "lied" because 1) she's a politician, and 2) she's "pandering" to "real" blacks.
Again, I'd understand this coming from the right, but the left is supposed to know better.
Furthermore, I listened to her very closely, after reading everyone in this thread taking her to task. When she mentioned "multiple generations", she did not say her family celebrated Kwanzaa "over multiple generations", she actually said that she remembers celebrating Kwanzaa with people in her family "over multiple generations", meaning multiple generations of her family would celebrate Kwanzaa together, I'm assuming kids, parents, grandparents and possibly great-grandparents all celebrating Kwanzaa together, which is a beautiful memory. But everyone here being so quick to say she's lying, to assume she's lying, and on top of that to imply that she's not black enough? For who? For all you non-black bigots?
This thread disgusts me.
The post that was quoted here has been removedI don’t know the case.
But if you were an alcoholic and abusive person in your 20’s. But have changed your ways and in your 50’s are no longer either, I truly think it shouldn’t be held against you.
Now, if this same person is advocating life-sentences for drug dealers.. then, yes. It is an issue.
Basically. If you raped someone when you were 18. Served your sentence and no longer behave like that, then I think you can still be a very effective politician. Especially of your honest about it.

The post that was quoted here has been removedI don't know how your family is, but this is common in multiracial, or even multireligion, households. The two sides of the family generally function separately from each other. Clearly she was talking about her father's side of the family, because why, indeed, would the immigrant Indian side of her family consider Kwanzaa important to them? They probably wouldn't. This doesn't preclude multiple generations of her father's side of the family getting together to celebrate Kwanzaa.
Far too many people in this thread seem far too eager to catch her in a lie.
