Your 15-year old daughter who has excelled in swimming for four years has her eyes set on the State Championships to be held in Charleston. She dreams of the Nationals, and maybe making the Olympic Team. She has GOT to rack up some wins, some accomplishments, in competition of girls in her category.
On Tuesday, you are at the local aquatics center waiting for one of her competitions. There is a ruckus....a 17-yr old boy and a 14 year old boy are both demanding to be allowed to compete.
As you watch, how does your conversation go with the father of another swimmer, who is equally curious??? What do you say, what does he say, what do you say?

This is a fair question to ferret out this issue, so long unanswered.
