Free speech advocates like myself have been saying facebook is too big to censor whatever they want and no democrats cared. They can try to knock Twitter out of the #2 position now if they think they can. They have fascistbook which is #1 so they have no room to complain, but they will anyway. Hypocrisy never stopped them before.

The Musk story is truly a bizarre a story as I've ever seen.
The richest person in the world (who is there because of incredible overvaluation of his nice but not dominant company) spends $50 billion to buy a platform just because it did things that aggravated him. Musk was already the greatest troll of our generation, but this is legend. Fiction writers wouldn't dare pitch this copy on their wildest days.
Though Wildgrass and some others tried to deny it, Twitter's hard left moderation bias was a fact and seeing some of the Leftist blue checkmarks promising to storm off in protest makes me want to reach for the popcorn.
He's not going to fire the Twitter infrastructure and so I doubt Twitter will suddenly become Parler but he'll take the edge off the censorship and I imagine most of the blue checkmarks with large followings will fuss a bit but hang on. It's hard to let go of that sort of audience.

Don't think I am confident the richest man in the world is sticking it to the man when he is the man. I do sometimes suspect a dirty trick is in the works, but it is done. We will all have to wait and see what happens. That is why I am sitting on the fence on this one.

You should be tolerant of people you hate instead of resorting to censorship. Spread the information about him I have provided you. That will bring him down so he is not POTUS again. Your calling for censoring him is just causing republicans to support him.
Trump is a loser. He cannot debate people that know what he has done and the hypocritical things he is saying now. Fight him with facts, not censorship. He is a paper tiger. Get on social media and expose his BS.

Powerful people have censored dissent through out history But not once have you ever heard a despot say "We just want to silence those who criticize us because it makes us look bad". It's all part of the same system. The people who want power but are losing the argument are always going to claim that they were censored or taken out of context or whatever and blame it on some external entity. What you write about isn't new or specific to Twitter or any other media platform throughout history. Media has always and will always have filters. As long as the filters are not mandated by the government, the good ideas should get through.
