Can't these far-right right-wingers tell when the are being duped? UK riots last year were caused when right-wingers posted misinformation. The people they duped just rioted instead of fact-checking.
According to a Reuters fact-check published on July 29, 2024, the person in the video is not Brighton’s mayor (Mohammed Asaduzzaman), but rather Muslim cleric Sheikh Sufi Muhammad Asghar. The miscaptioned video actually shows the cleric visiting a community centre in Bedford—not the mayor of Brighton speaking publicly.

@congruent saidRegardless, I think the intent of the opening post is to highlight an immigration problem in the UK [and much of Europe], from Islamic and African countries. Although there are model immigrants who work and contribute, many of these immigrants either do not assimilate, they live without contributing by living off welfare, or they are prone to engage in criminal activity. Countries with high levels of immigration in Europe have experienced increased discomfort in many ways.

Its not up to you, or me or for some individual to claim .... "I personally have not experienced any negative effects of immigration .." , as you often hear people say. The general consensus of people is what tells how people feel about immigration. Here is Perplexity weighing in on this matter:
Polls conducted in 2025 show that public opinion in the UK sees immigration as a significant issue, with many Britons believing immigration levels are too high. Key findings include:
Around two-thirds (67😵 of Britons think the total number of people entering the UK is too high, with 43% saying it is "much too high."
Immigration ranks as the biggest issue facing the country for nearly half (49😵 of the public in mid-2025, the highest level of concern since just before the 2016 Brexit referendum.
Concern is especially high about asylum seekers and refugees, with 68% thinking their numbers are too high. Concerns are also raised about those coming to live with family (57😵 or to work (41😵, though fewer worry about students (37😵.
Public views on immigrants' impacts are mixed: positive for culture and skilled workers, but more negative regarding crime and housing availability.
There is strong support for policies such as deporting immigrants who commit serious crimes (78% support), increasing border patrol funding (64% support), and banning citizenship for illegal entrants (63% support).
Opinions vary on making immigration easier for skilled workers, refugees, and international students, reflecting nuanced views overall.
These data reveal a broad public perception in the UK that there is an immigration problem, particularly in terms of the number of arrivals and specific categories like asylum seekers, even as views on immigrants' contributions differ depending on the aspect considered.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidI'm puzzled, because I can understand the guy just fine, despite my being more attuned to the American accent than the British one. I've watched British television series where lily-white native Englanders are talking like they have marbles in their mouth and I can barely make out what's being said. I find the guy in the video easier to understand than them. If you must know, he's talking about the materialistic life, being concerned with getting a big car, a big house, and so on.

Maybe it's your own English that is deficient in some way?
I'm really surprised by how desperate right-wingers are to gin up hatred toward anyone who's "other." The strident female narrator of the video, like you, is really just lost. Such malevolence is quite sad.
@Rajk999 saidWe also know Russia and China are spamming disinformation at American voters.

@congruent saidI think it reflects poorly on your personality and your ability to debate with integrity, when you need to resort to reference someone's IQ, intellect, chess rating etc. These criteria are irrelevant in a debate. Try to up your debating skills a bit.

@congruent saidIt is extremist Islam in the UK, and the stupid left wing govt, that caused that. This is a recent development. The British now live in fear of Islam in their own country and afraid to voice your opinion on these matters. I have family and friends living in the UK, and the only time they speak freely and truthfully is face to face. The UK now monitors all internet and social media communication. Sorry for you people over there.

@Rajk999 saidThere's no saving grace in the OP, where the whole gusto is the mayor of Brighton apparently not being able to speak English, but transpires he is not the mayor of Brighton at all.
Regardless, I think the intent of the opening post is to highlight an immigration problem in the UK [and much of Europe], from Islamic and African countries.
The thread fails at the first hurdle and merely demonstrates how the thread creator once again is an easy victim to fake news. There is no honourable intent in the creation of the thread but only a willingness to embrace and share misinformation.
@Rajk999 saidThis is complete nonsense. We do not live in fear of Islam in the UK. - I understand how this fits with your anti-Islam narrative, but you are simply projecting and a victim yourself of misinformation.
