This is complete nonsense. We do not live in fear of Islam in the UK. - I understand how this fits with your anti-Islam narrative, but you are simply projecting and a victim yourself of misinformation.
As usual people tend to personalize these things, and thats understandable. But its not about your opinion v my opinion. I know you live in the UK but so do many millions of British people who have varying opinions. The facts speak for themselves and your opinion is just that of one man. You dont get to vote for everybody. One way to look at the problem of immigration is to see how well Muslims are treated [MAMA] and to understand the reason for this treatment...

Anti-Muslim hate in the UK surged to record levels last year, an organisation tracking Islamophobia has found. Almost 6,000 reports to Tell Mama were confirmed by it as anti-Muslim incidents, more than double the number two years ago, with men targeted more than women for the first time since the body was founded in 2012.

In its report the organisation said there had been a "surge in rhetoric that falsely portrays Muslims as terrorists or terrorist sympathisers" following the Israel-Gaza conflict and Southport murders. A government spokesperson called the findings "extremely concerning" and said it would "seek to stamp out anti-Muslim hatred and racism wherever it occurs". A total of 6,313 cases of anti-Muslim hate were recorded by Tell Mama in 2024, a 43% increase on the previous year - with 5,837 of the reports verified by the group.

The organisation, which describes itself as the leading agency on monitoring anti-Muslim hate crime, said it had documented a steep rise in offline incidents, with 3,680 cases reported - a 72% increase on the number two years ago. The majority of the in-person cases were abusive behaviour, with Tell Mama also recording incidents of physical assault, discrimination and vandalism. Most of the attacks took place in public areas such as streets and parks, with a minority occurring in the workplace.

For the first time since Tell Mama's inception in 2012, more men than women were targeted by anti-Muslim hate and Islamophobia, the organisation said. Tell Mama said that shift reflected "the deepening impact of harmful stereotypes that fuel societal divisions and reinforces false notions about Muslim identities".

Anti-Muslim attacks surged in the UK following both the Southport murders last July and the start of the Israel-Gaza conflict in October 2023. According to the report, more than half of the online incidents of Islamophobia last year took place after three girls were murdered at a dance class in Southport. The majority of these occurred on the social media platform X - formerly known as Twitter.

Following the murders, misinformation about the assailant's identity proliferated online, fuelling civil unrest that spread across the UK. Axel Rudakubana, an 18-year-old born in Cardiff to Rwandan parents who had settled in Britain, is serving a minimum 52-year sentence for the murders.

Tell Mama said that there had been a "surge in rhetoric that falsely portrays Muslims as terrorists or terrorist sympathisers" since both the 7 October 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel and the 2024 riots sparked by the Southport murders.

Iman Atta, the group's director, called for coordinated action by the government and said: "As anti-Muslim hate continues to be felt by a greater number of British Muslims, both at a street and online level, our work and support for victims of anti-Muslim hate is needed now more than ever." The public must "stand together against hatred and extremism", she said, and urged those in positions of influence to "consider how their language risks stereotyping communities and how it unduly influences discussions online and offline".

In response to the findings, the government said that "attacks on and hatred against Muslim communities are completely unacceptable and have no place in our society". A spokesperson added: "We are absolutely determined to bridge divisions between communities and are working closely with community groups, charities, and public sector partners to tackle hatred in all its forms."

There's no saving grace in the OP, where the whole gusto is the mayor of Brighton apparently not being able to speak English, but transpires he is not the mayor of Brighton at all.

The thread fails at the first hurdle and merely demonstrates how the thread creator once again is an easy victim to fake news. There is no honourable intent in the creation of the thread but only a willingness to embrace and share misinformation.
The opening post is fake news. No argument. The bigger picture is that Islam is taking over the UK. There are almost 20 towns in the UK that have a Muslim mayor and there are dozens of reports from concerned citizens of changes to their society that are undesirable. I will find and quote some of these later.

Robert Jenrick - The facts are in: mass immigration has led to a rise in crime

Coming to this country is a privilege, never a right. It should not be afforded to anyone likely to endanger our citizens. Keir Starmer, leader of the Labour Party, and Yvette Cooper, Shadow Home Secretary, speak to police officers during a visit to Milton Keynes.

For years we have had an institutional cover-up of the costs of immigration. The amount of serious and violent crime we have imported from low-skilled migration has been swept under the carpet. From what I can only deduce is out of misplaced fear of harming social cohesion if the truth were to emerge, the public have had the wool pulled over their eyes. Officials have hidden behind the excuse of “operational challenges” and “disproportionate cost”.

But the dam is now breaking. The Home Office will publish crime data by nationality “by the end of the year”. It should happen sooner, and it should be more thorough – breaking down visa and asylum status too. But it is a welcome step in the right direction.

This should have been put into the public domain long ago – as the US and Denmark have done. Over a year ago, I wrote a report with Neil O’Brien and Karl Williams setting out all the social and economic data we needed. I even tabled an amendment, backed by more than 40 colleagues, to the Crime and Policing Bill to mandate the publication of the volume and type of migrant crime. Plenty of other campaigners and parliamentarians have raised this issue, only to be met with a “computer says no” response.

The Government has been forced, through freedom of information requests, to release indicative data. The preliminary findings are extremely concerning. For instance :
- Algerians appear 18 times more likely to be convicted of theft as British citizens.
- Congolese nationals appear to be 12 times more likely, and Somalians eight times more likely, to be convicted of a violent crime than UK citizens.
- Afghans and Eritreans are more than 20 times more likely to be convicted of sexual offences than British citizens.

Overall, foreign nationals were 71 per cent more likely than Britons to be convicted for sex crimes.

It makes me sick to my core to think we are importing people into this country who are causing such terrible harm. We, rightly, talk a lot about protecting women and girls in Parliament. One of the biggest things the Government could do to protect them would be to reduce visas radically and to dramatically increase background checks for nationals from those countries – as well as deporting their failed asylum seekers. And do it now.

The full, verified Home Office data will give us the unvarnished truth: some nationalities are significantly more likely to commit crime than others. As Kemi Badenoch has said, it shouldn’t be controversial to state that not all cultures are equal. Freedom of Information requests thus far suggest 66 nationalities have a higher conviction rate per 10,000 than Britons. If we are to build an immigration system that protects the interests of the British public, we need to know which nationalities are higher and which are lower.

The data on migrant crime is not an academic exercise. It is a means to an end. Its purpose is to inform an immigration system that puts the safety of British people first. Coming to this country is a privilege, never a right. It should not be afforded to anyone likely to endanger our citizens.

I don’t care if that ruffles Left-wing feathers. The public – and policymakers – need the truth. It will be hard for some to read. But I’ll take a hard truth over a gentle lie every single time.

There should be no further discussion in this thread until @Cliff-Mashburn acknowledges that he has lied (and probably broken UK laws). He should then retract his post and request the forum admin lock the thread.

We are not here to further agendas of the likes of @Rajk999 when people lie to encourage violence or propagate misinformation.

Cliff is an American. America and indeed many parts of the world care little about British laws regarding Islam. We enjoy free speech in this part of the world. Islam is in control in the UK. That is your failure as a nation to keep Islam on a short leash. Islam destroys countries. For you to speak in their defense you must be an Imam in one of the many mosques in the UK.

Loads of fake stuff out there, especially with AI generated posts, pics and videos. Its really a minefield. But as you said, the leftists do the same thing and worse.

So in answer to my question, '"no", you are not going to man up and accept the chap in the video is not the mayor of Brighton, or indeed apologise for spreading misinformation. Instead you are going to double down and reinforce your own twatiness.

It is extremist Islam in the UK, and the stupid left wing govt, that caused that. This is a recent development. The British now live in fear of Islam in their own country and afraid to voice your opinion on these matters. I have family and friends living in the UK, and the only time they speak freely and truthfully is face to face. The UK now monitors all internet and social media communication. Sorry for you people over there.
Why don't you come up with a post that lists and details all your grievances with Islam and then just copy/paste it into every reply you make?

It should save you a TON of time.

Seems like that's all your posts are anyways.

But here's the thing. You dismiss my personal lived experience in the UK as just the opinion of one man, and yet cite anecdotal things you have heard from family and friends in the UK, backed up by random internet grabs, and present that as a factual condemnation of a country you clearly don't understand.

Again, I can see how the things you assert conform to your anti-Muslim
rhetoric but the facts don't speak for themselves when those facts are cherry picked and misrepresentative. The average chap in the UK doesn't live in perpetual fear of Islam and doesn't feel restricted in speaking freely. (If they speak about it at all) - Yes, there are legal repercussions for hate speech or incitement to violence, and rightly so.

The UK is a great and free place to live. Sure, no country is perfect and we have factions in our population I will never understand. But on the whole we are an inclusive people and very much in control of our own destiny.
