Get this.
$500B universal paid family and medical leave
$427B. Child care programs
$556B child tax credit (do the poor have more kids to get more money?)
$98B Child and dependent care tax credit
$285B Medicare, Dental, hearing and vision coverage
$310B Obamacare Expansion
Now get this: People earning $800K a year are eligible for $12,500 Elec vehicle credit (subsidy for the wealthy!!). A married couple making $150K a year or a couple making $400K are eligible for the expanded child tax credit!!! You fellers are spending our dollars big time. These couples ALSO get $1000/m paid leave!!!! And you wonder what Joe Manchin is harping about !??
Govt can't cover this and the rest of the fat, totalling $5T. Taxes are about to begin. The poor are the part of society who smoke the most. Cigs will go up $1/pack. It begins, taxing everyone, not just the ones over $400K. It will be hilarious to watch the congressional budget office as the as they try to make these numbers work. They can't.
BTW, none of these entitlements has a work requirement. You can get paid family leave for sitting with a neighbor who has the flu. And you do not have to be working.
Ladders of opportunity are disappearing. Your children will wonder, what in the hell? What have y'all done to our futures.
Unemployment is down to around 5%. The economy is doing well. Why do y'all feel like something that is not broken be fixed? Let's rebuild some bridges, etc, and everyone go to work. Doesn't that make sense? And why does Biden give subsidies to rich people, as shown above?, I noted a few weeks ago y'all went wild that Congress was giving all kind of subsidies to farmers, etc.
Geez o'Petey.
@averagejoe1 saidDo you ever lay awake at night and think about how airlines spent 96% of their free cash flow on stock buybacks for a decade, then cut 90,000 jobs just as soon as they ran into a little trouble, then got a $50 billion bailout from the federal treasury?

The billionaires who invest in these companies whose stocks should have tanked (but instead kept going up because of the bailout) are getting the free stuff from US taxpayers. I think it is a reasonable suggestion that tax dollars get used for public services instead of wasting them on Wall Street bailouts, corporate welfare and picking winners in energy and farming.
The economy exists to support 'we the people' and not the other way around. End corporate welfare.
@wildgrass saidBank bailouts, too. F 'em. Let them fail. Stop paying their bonuses.

Take that money and pay it out to families who struggle to feed their kids.
@averagejoe1 saidCall it "propping up the social infrastructure", instead.
The above Post is pointing out serious new entitlement
This is less about "new entitlements" (a phrase you never use to describe the tax cuts for the rich), and more about a down payment on a debt we owe to these people.
Oh, but wait. You're also against us paying off the debt we already owe, you know, paying for Trump paying out billions to the rich.
@averagejoe1 saidAll those programs seem worthwhile investments in human capital. And as their cost is spread over 10 years, $3.5 trillion would be something like 1.5% of GNP or less than we wasted on the foolish wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And hopefully most of the cost can be recouped by rising taxes on corporations and the wealthy which have plummeted for 4 decades.
@no1marauder saidYes, hopefully.

"The bill says individual taxpayers must have an adjusted gross income of no more than $400,000 to get the new EV tax credit. It would limit the EV credit to cars priced at no more than $55,000, while trucks could be priced up to $74,000."

I guess he imagines that a married couple could make up to twice that amount though I don't see anything that confirms this (it's possible though).
Anyway, there is already a $7500 EV tax credit and this is just an expansion. It's a good idea though:
"The tax credit for up to $12,500 per vehicle for U.S.-made union-made zero emission models compares with a $7,500 incentive for most other electric cars - an amount that has not changed."
So zero emission cars built by US workers; what's not to like? And the cost is paltry: $33-34 billion over ten years.

A 'little' trouble? And buybacks are normal activity in business, as are bankruptcies, which have recently been mentioned. No offense , but libs are not well-versed in that area. They can buy back all they want,,,,healthy for their business. Legal..Keeps things alive so that you can fly to Vail. I would not want to drive. Thanks, Delta. A dyed-in-the-wool liberal board member would say help the people and make everything free. Silly, but you get my point. If you don't like the way they run their non-govt, private business, do not fly with them. They have nothing to do with you. Kopernick taking a knee has nothing to do with you.
Many more pension and 401k funds own Delta than do billionaires....y'all just have to throw billionaires in there , don't you. So predictable. If Delta is getting stuff from the govt, tell your congressman, but they will tell you to get with the real world, and won't do a damn thing. So, we can be Hare Krishna and beat drums. Meanwhile, many smart men pass laws to make the economy hum along. I like the smart men, and 401ks, myself. How is your delta stock in your 401k doing? And buying stock is optional,,,,,,don't invest if you dont want to. So, you hate Delta and Billionaires. A few of y'all do, and seem to mention it a lot.
Lastly, the economy is a factor in a capitalist society where people are protected by the government so that they can go on about their lives to support THEMSELVES. When did y'all turn it around, and you are winning, so that the government started supporting "We the People".
@no1marauder saidAll tax credits for EVs are stupid. They don't reduce carbon emissions and they are too expensive. It would be better to have tax credits for fuel efficient automobiles.
