No, the White House doesn't need a [expletive deleted] ballroom especially one that is going to be 95,000 square feet or almost twice the size of the entire present White House. There's nothing ever done at the White House that requires a party room of that size and it will undoubtedly hardly ever be used more than a few times a year. The actual ballroom is only about 25,000 sq feet of the 90,000, about tripling the current guest capacity. There also will be kitchen facilities, storage areas, staging areas, service areas, office space, coat rooms, restrooms, security stuff etc, everything needed to manage events large and small, without weather considerations, tents or honey buckets. Of all the things to get butt hurt over, I don't get this one.

The present White House has rooms for State dinners that can hold up to 200 people. And they're barely utilized for that purpose, at least not more than a few times a year.

So you see nothing wrong with building a party room that holds a 1,000 paid for by big businesses that have extensive dealings with the government already?
