@AverageJoe1 saidNo one is going to "open the border". I have no memory, or, before my time, I don't know that the American borders have EVER been "open". But I'm not a historian, either.
Iran: Better to read the world of them now than to have our grandchildren dealing with nukes
Fuel will be straightened out soon. Gotta have a bit of sacrifice on occasion.
So people will vote based on gas prices? Talarico is going to open the border. So the 80 xtra cents you pay for gas will be NOTHING compared to feeding housing and medicating all of the influx of all of those foreigners who cannot speak English into our country.
Pick one, you fool.
Stop with your twisted fear factor. It's all you guys have any more. Here's a suggestion: instead of invoking fear, try policies the American people actually want.
@AverageJoe1 saidWhile you conservatives are never tired of exposing your ignorance.
You almost lost me with the ignorant reference to Donald Trump, but I hung in there for a moment…….
But THEN you lost me again when you implied that when something is expensive (overcharged) that there is something wrong. Really? So if I sell eggs at my egg farm fr $35/doz, is that wrong? Is it ‘ overcharging?’ No. If something is too expensive, no one has to ...[text shortened]... price is just more than they would like to pay.
You liberals …..you’re so put-upon. Awwwww
@AverageJoe1 saidCranking up prices just to make more profit never, ever helps those in poverty.
No, they do NOT go hand in hand. Shallow thinking once again, just throw it out there.
Poverty and affordability are related, but they are not synonymous. Poverty describes a person’s lack of financial resources. We know that. Affordability describes the relationship between those resources and the cost of a particular good or service.
A millionaire can find a lu ...[text shortened]... cannot afford a yacht, your logic could say he is in poverty,,,,,he’d not have resources to buy it.
@AverageJoe1 saidOkay. So how does this relate to your thread title saying "See this before voting"?
Sorry. Here is another, there are hundreds. Looks like you all were surprised to know that red states are more affordable than blue state. One of you started writing about poverty, as if you thought that might change the point of this thread. Sorry, but this thread rules.

Is your point vote red because blue states cost more?
@Mott-The-Hoople saidThe reader IS expected to have a bare minimum of intelligence.
the graph shows two of the largest blue states right there at the top...with various alternating on down the line. But, without knowing the criteria for the graph, cant really get anything from it
@Mott-The-Hoople saidThat's not happening, moron.
but you are ok with dems hiking up gas prices?
Exxon and Chevon have made far more profit this quarter than same quarter last year.
Republicans are pro-big-business, not Democrats. The prices are up by using the excuse of Trump's War.
@Mott-The-Hoople saidThe criteria is "poverty rates". 10 of the top 12 states for poverty are red states.

@Suzianne saidHow did 5000 Mexicans, et al, A DAY, cross over our Southern border as Biden stood by, if they were not permitted to do so? If a gate is not closed , it is_________ (write answer here)….. Just like you did in third grade, and we know that you clearly remember the third grade!

This equates to an open border does it not? What’s wrong with you little lady. You’re just looking for trouble.?
@Suzianne saidWell, here we go with Sue. That's an overly simplistic way of looking at economics, Suzianne, but what’s new. Profit and poverty are not mutually exclusive. Businesses need to generate profits. ..
Cranking up prices just to make more profit never, ever helps those in poverty.
. Lower prices aren't automatically a solution to poverty, just as higher prices aren't automatically exploitation. Whew. Addressing poverty requires looking at wages, employment opportunities, inflation, housing costs, and the overall cost of living. For everyone, in the throes of the choices they make.
Blaming profit alone for poverty isn't an economic argument. It's an oversimplification of a much bigger issue.
You are acting like businesses shouldn't make money. In fact, it’s solved by creating an economy where people have the opportunity and purchasing power to afford what businesses produce.
I just stood in line at a grocery store. The little lady in front of me may have been impoverished. They charged me. Should they not have charged her? You people have a lot to say, but then you really have nothing to say..
Here’s an idea you can bat around. What if the grocery store charged her $.10 for a loaf of bread and charge me $.50 for the same loaf of bread
Discuss?
@Mott-The-Hoople saidOil refineries did that, obviously.
but you are ok with dems hiking up gas prices?
