@Suzianne saidBoth America and Russia built roads, bridges, power stations, hospitals, apartments, schools for the Afghans.
Afghanistan was destroyed by long occupations of first, Russian forces and then second, by American forces.
It's all gone now. As soon as the Taliban took over they let it all fall apart and go back to near stone age conditions.
@no1marauder saidI bet you decided the name for the team.
LMAO! Marauders was the name of my softball team 30+ years ago.
You really are a deranged conspiracy nut.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidThe fact that anyone could even consider arguing a case in favour of a bunch of Islamic extremists that have destroyed countless lives, tells you that person is sick.

@AverageJoe1 saidBut they do apply to your president, even more than others.
These proverbs are not 'convenient.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidThe far right wing of ANY religion is dangerous, maybe even especially Christianity.
Not scared just pointing out how evil Islam is.
@Suzianne saidIranians bristle at being called Arabs, like calling an Irishman English. I have known Iranians. They say they are Caucasians, as the (southern) Caucasus Mountains abut Iran.
Funny though, Iranians aren't white either. Coincidence? I think not.

@Suzianne saidTell me your idea of far right Christianity. I would guess anyone that doesn’t agree with the parts you choose to discard and not believe in, for self gratification and superiority. Your virus, sickness is contaminating and spilling over into the lives of our children, women/girls, along with what’s right and acceptable in Christ.

@mike69 saidJesus was a classic leftist. That's why he was killed.

You can NOT serve God and mammon.
@Suzianne saidYou only follow, believe in what ever parts of the Bible that fit your lifestyle while ignoring the rest to make you feel better about yourself. God changes those from the inside outward who surrender their lives, have trust and faith and follow him. This isn’t the other way around too make you feel better about your sin. Yes Christ loves you and draws you near, for you to grow in him and his word not to ignore it.

'You only follow, believe in what ever parts of the Bible that fit your lifestyle while ignoring the rest to make you feel better about yourself.'
Surely this is what everybody does? Cherry-pick (to various extents) what suits them? Did Jesus not advocate that people give away all their possessions? Interesting advice to be sure in our age of vapid materialism and superficiality but who actually does this?
@beardmusic saidEverybody doesn’t cherry pick, we all have our struggles and sins, things God is working on in our lives for believers. I doubt there are any sins not being committed in the world, but asking forgiveness, meaning it whole heartedly, and asking God to take these sins out of your life is another thing. There is a big difference between saying I’m Christian and choosing, changing his word outwardly and in your heart to fit within a box of your own making for your own needs and backing it up with Christ is the biggest leftest there ever was in another.

Fair enough. However, the idea that the historical Jesus would have stood behind economic and military power (as opposed to challenging and confronting them) stretches believability. Therefore, although the term is anachronistic he would presumably have stood by traditional 'left-wing' ideas such as concern for the weakest members of society and against militarism.
