Personally, I think sonhouse is more socially intolerant and apathetic than most republicans and being a democrat is a way of fooling himself into thinking he is different from remorseless republicans. In other words, sonhouse is a closet republican who is ashamed of it. Kind of like republicans who are closet homosexuals. They are ashamed that they are gay.
