Oh, there is more threads about the Zimbabwian democracy than mine? 🙂

I care for the Tibetan peoples right to have their culture, religion and language intact by freedom. As I do for every people. I am lucky enough to live in a society where I can have my own tradition, religion and language.

If someone tells me that I can't speak my own language anymore because then I'll have great problems, that I can't exersize my religion anymore, I am forced to abandon my beliefs by violance, that I have to adopt another culture in order to survive etc, then I am in the same position as the Tibetans, and other peoples on our Earth.

If I am Eorupean or not has nothing to do with it.

Internal logic of a protester's mind...

Protester: "I don't like how China treats Tibet. How can I show my displeasure?"

Responder: "Well, you could stop buying products from China. If no one bought their products they'd have to change pretty quick!"

Protester: "What? Then my actions would COST ME something. I'd have to pay more for the things I buy...I don't care enough about Tibet to pay 8 dollars for a toy made in the UK versus a 6 dollar toy made in China...what are you crazy??"

Responder: "Well, what are you going to do about China's treatment of Tibet then?"

Protester: "I think i'll go yell at the torch that dude in the wheelchair over there is holding."

Fabian, i find you to be a good , kind hearted person. but waving a flag as a protest is like talking to a stone wall. Only a good punch in the nose will solve this problem. It's called The Real World, which is a hugh dung heap. You would do better to revive some of your hit songs from the fifties. If i miss the pole vault competition i'll kill myself.

Well I think people like Redmike, Shav, and the rest of the moron brigade should take up arms and go and liberate those poor Monks.

Yet another absolute zinger from slimjim. His lack of inhibition about brandishing the word "moron" in a post like the one above, makes the word his own, and liberates us all. It makes Sam The Sham's cerebralism in the previous post seem almost shallow.

I haven't wave the Tibatan flag (yet), only the Zimbabwian one.

Some people prefer violence so solve a situation. I 'don't. Dalai Lama doesn't. China does.

But even if the violence solution worked, does anyone interested in this situation have to go out and punch noses? No, I think everyone should chose his personal method to achieve something.

My method is based on what I think about violence and war, how much time I have in my disposal, how much effort I want to engage, and what I like best.

Talking to people is my way of find a solution. Inform people, start discussions, and so on. In a peaceful way. As Dalai Lama does, and have done since 1959.

How do you know that the majority of the people 'yelling at the torch' are also buying 'chinese toys'? You can't possibly know.

But I'll tell you how you think you know. You've projected it. You've projected it because it fits your stereotypical world view and you can go on feeling smug about yourself with respect to others.

I honestly believe there are a section of the protesters that couldn't find Tibet on a map.

The link doesn't work for me.
There are several ways to help Tibet. I've found mine. It works for me. I don't want to be 100% efficient, I have other things to do in my life.
I support the ideas of Dalai Lama, I care for the Tibetan culture, i want Tibet to be Tibetan. That's all.

I believe in your opinion, as long as the US does not get involved with it's military. If we do get involved with force a will stuff a 17 inch bayonet down my throat and crank my head off.

I care.
Victory to China. Death to Dalai Lama.
Long live a Tibet free from Dalai Lama, free from CIA, and free from supernaturalist vampires.
