Too bad you are so fuuuking shortsighted.
A 20% tariff will TANK our economy and will do nothing to help US manufactured goods.
So you want an HDMI cable? Good luck getting it for the original pre tariff price or any one of thousands of other items not produced here and some cases cannot be produced here.
And OF COURSE you would never take the word of Nobel prize winning economists over your god Trump.
You all will never get it that tariffs, like bankruptcy, are tools, negotiating tools. Leverage tools. Leverage over China.
Get a scotch, sit back, think about it. Like a chess game, ALL of the countries are scared of Trump strength. He will play them off of each other. If two are selling the same product, the game begins. Which will take the risk? With Trump, they should.
Tell us, is Harris a seasoned negotiator? With foreigners?
Sip the scotch

Tariffs are better in the long run
Take libs like Sonhouse to the endgame of their thinking.
The only solution for these liberal thinkers is to liberalize! Have No Tariffs!!

Oh, THAT part of Trump. Yeah, and I think he has bad breath. So do they.
But, they will fear him.

Most of this debt was from policies created before Trumps presidency
Clinton left office with a balanced budget. Trump ran up the third highest national debt of any US president in history, and that was before COVID. Pfui.

It was my understanding that "American" companies that manufacture goods overseas and import to the US would cop the tariffs. Not foreign companies. or obviously american companies on home soil.

So that is how you judge the suitability of someone to be POTUS. you want everyone to FEAR him.
Not to maybe bring us together as US citizens but to separate us into camps hostile to each other.
So that is how you think a presidency should go.

You really think Trump is actually respected in the world community? Kissing up to Putin, giving him covid test kits when we here in the US could not get them, in LOVE with Kim Jon Un, having Erdogan over for lunch at Mar a Lago along with NetanYAHOO? He LOVES dictators and his firmest wish is to be one himself.
Why you can't see that I will never know, unless you actually KNOW he wants to be dictator and you agree with him that democracy is no good for America.

So you are keyed to the economy and nothing else should be taken into consideration as to what makes it for the presidency.

But you ignore the fact Dow is over 43000 and sets new records every week, a quarter million new jobs in September alone, wages up past the levels of inflation so the take home pay of workers has gone up compared to inflation.

I myself just paid 2.99 a gallon for gas just yesterday, the price of insulin for diabetics went way way down to 35 bucks a month, BILLIONS spend on getting new chips plants here in the US so we won't have to be totally dependent on Taiwan which WILL be a huge deal if and when China attacks that Island, the infrastructure bill passed that Trump NEVER could getting potholes and bridges fixed, and you know good and well some of those bridges were LITERALLY coming apart not even mentioning the one that stupid barge battered and killed a half dozen workers.

Trump LITERALLY laughed at during his UN speech, kissing up to Putin, not even allowing notes to be taken during that disgusting Helsinki deal with Putin.
BESIDES the legal issues going on against Trump, so much so that is the reason he is running again, first and foremost, to stop all his legal problems if he is in fact reelected and he is OBVIOUSLY a LOT more radicalized than he ever was the last time he was POTUS.

But of course, for you NONE of ANY of that stuff matters so you pick only the economy and are claiming as Trump says, ONLY TRUMP can fix it.
When in fact our GDP is pushing 30 TRILLION dollars while China's GDP is tanking, now under TWENTY Trillion making our economy the LITERAL envy of the entire world INCLUDING CHINA so when you claim it is the economy that is the main deal for you to want to elect Trump you are TOTALLY ignoring what the economy is doing RIGHT NOW. Jobs WAY up, unemployment down to levels not seen in DECADES but none of that means a thing to you because you believe every fuuking LIE coming out of Trump's mouth.

I don't think that the economy is the only issue oin this election but this thread is for discussions related only to the economy

I brought up economy but you chose not to talk about it. I can only assume you believe everything Trump tells you, the economy is tanking, inflation is through the roof, unemployment very high, etc. We KNOW that is total BULLCRAP. Like I said, GDP is closing in on 30 TRILLION a year and China is under 20 when it used to be thought they would soon be the number one economy on Earth but they are tanking and our economy is LITERALLY the envy of the world. So what is your response to that?
